Or is there only one way to present NS, its buildings and classes..? ;)
Edit: The first GL you see shoots two DCs and another building...there are many similarities.
I don't think there was any specific focus on that particular trailer, but you'd have to ask Cory to be sure.
In general there are basic elements of the game that need to be shown off, and certain ways work best. Showing off building and commander mode is a must for NS2, as it was for NS1, and you usually put the non action scenes like that first in the trailer for pacing purposes. Aerial combat is the best way to show off Jetpacks, so naturally you're going to want the scene to include marines and Lerks. Etc.
But for nostalgia purposes I think it is good that it ended up there are so many shared scenes in both trailers, because people who loved the first game can see how similar and yet different NS2 is.
