Wwcl For Ns?

<div class="IPBDescription">does it exist, will the cs one work?</div> I just ran my comp down here in Victoria, Melbourne and it went great with the winners all getting Creative nomad mp3 players.

the problem is after the comp i found out that a couple of the teams were netcoding (those who have nfi what this means, its basically tweaking your client side so it runs more in sync with the server- ie you c ppl before thay c u)

this isnt really a major deal- only a small one, but it would be easily fixxed if WWCL could run on a NS server- does anyone kno if this works or not?

I dont know if it will work but some comments anyway...

My experience from wwcl are mixed and are from playing CS. I personally dont think that dribbling with the netcode to change the way the client interpolates information regarding player positions inbetween server messages make a huge difference. It will certainly not make a good player out of a bad one, not even an excellent player out of a good one. The main difference is I noticed is that you have to be more accurate to hit what you intend to hit. You cant "near miss" anyone and still get a hit. The most obvious example of this is with the sniper rifles in CS. With wwcl activated you have to aim a little different to hit at all. Many players feel that wwcl brake their experience of the game. The thing is that the changes in gameplay are mostly so small that you can only describe them in hunches you have while playing.

I say let them fool with netcode if they wish. If they say it makes a difference for them don't argue. They will continue to believe it will. But if theres a difference it is not big enough to make a individual/team a winner. At least not in my experience.

The second thing I wanted to say is only speculation. I do not know if it affects NS at all. In the next version of CS, the one delivered via STEAM, the netcode will be fixed on the client by the server. WWCL will in other words not be needed. I am not certain if this will affect all mods for HL. It seems likely that this part (together with the update to VGUI2 and the hltv and viewdemo updates) will be central to the way HL operates and thus also affect NS. But I am not sure. Do anyone else know anything about this?

hmmm tru- but theres the peace of mind issue, and its just that the team that won was netcoding....
