Lets get a server back up and people playing in it. NS2 is completely empty and i think since people login and see noone on they just leave. I will be waiting in a server to hopefully revive it.

if you can't see any servers, it's bug.. there are plenty and wealthy players already in NS2. I used to solve that problem(not showing any servers) with creating my own server and disconnect right after, but i don't know for now.
But the point is, there are players to play with you :)
Mm, just went in-game, probably about 6 or so servers almost full or full. Alot of them are high ping 300ms+ though.
I recommend the Inversion servers, they always play great for me. I have a strong enough rig to set a server up and enough free time to do it, maybe I should look into it...
There are 12 servers up with over 100 players between them. Look here http://www.play4dead.com/ns2/
When I first tried build 197 I didn't find any, then I noticed the message from my anti-virus asking if I would grant permission for NS2 to get online. So you might want to check your firewall or anti virus.

I had the same problem unfortunately. My AVG thought it was harmful and tried to firewall it, I declined yet servers were still not working for me, I fixed this by verifying the game cache, it then worked. Apparently I was on build 195 some how.
If you are unfamiliar on how to do this, simply open steam library right click NS2 and select properties then select the local files tab and verify your files
I think more people would be playing if the beta being playable was advertised IN Steam. I only knew about it from a PHL updated a while back, and would check back periodically on their official website for NS2 info (and kickass footage). To any administrators here, will you be advertising via Steam soon? Also, one more question, and admittedly I haven't searched for the answer, will you be supporting 32 person servers at any point? I thought NS1 supported this......
P.S,Just dl and played the beta today, it's great so far

We're still not ready to do that yet, as the game is still in beta, and we want to make sure it is nice and polished when we put it up there.
And we are still aiming to support 32 player servers by the time we hit release, though the gameplay gets pretty crazy with that many people.

We all are, great to see the forums come alive and the servers filling as they have done since Gorilla got released :-)
I love the small community we are at right now as well, i see people on the forums -in game- and it just feels a lot more connected, like "I know that guy!"

I trust that the Dynamic Infestation that you originally planned is progressing well. Can't wait to see that, it's been over 3 years since that demonstration video of the prototype.
Once the game is finally released on Steam I think the community will survive just fine. I few free-weekends are always nice too, it gets a bunch of new people to try and buy the game that never would have before.

I'm sure they love that small community feel, but they'd love to lose it if it meant 50,000 sales. :P
I hope they get at least that.
