Why not let lerk lift Gorge?

I've once seen that lerk will bilebomb instead of gorge, i love that idea, but why don't you just let them lift gorge and let them need to be more organic?

Lerk alone bilebombing would cause more self-playing to aliens. Lerk+Gorge bilebomb would look nice, and function nice as a teamplay.

    No idea where you heard that Lerks will get bile bomb... that seems like it would be pretty OP. However, assuming that's true, allowing Lerks to carry Gorges around instead would be pretty cool.

    The problem with lerklift is, that a gorge can heal the lerk all the time and because he is below the lerk he's also a fat absorber.

    Right now a gorge with bilebomb is a mobile and selfhealing that has double the DMG/s that a ARC has, but is cheap and agile. Also gorge can sit in vents and bile a base down, what the Lerk can't because he needs to fly to drop a BB. And the effective price for BB is increased to 30res.

    And the biggest pro, Lerk = B52 w corpduster

    The main reason is that the marines aren't ready for it!

    Not sure what you mean by that, Lerk lift has always had grief potential (mostly Lerk side). If you wanna hitch a ride as Gorge, you should know when to ditch :P

    Gorges panic. Everyone rushes to the <strike>escape chopper</strike> single lerk and trys to get <strike>in</strike> on.

    Lerk lifts off and crys "over weight" as it explodes into lucky charms as the exo's miniguns rip it apart like a cat shredding your favorite book.

    I don't expect lerks to teammates that much. It is hilarious to watch lerks lifting marines, then dropping them to their deaths though - but this is not the topic of this thread.

    I like the idea of gorges pressing 'e' to attach to lerks, rather than the other way around. Might go the other way though - lerks not wanting to be attached to and getting stuck because they cannot enter vents or cannot stick to walls while holding tubby.

    Does this make a lerk a teli-tubby? *crickets*

    Must press E on each other and HOLD IT until gorge is grappled. Disable all abilities on both lerk and gorge. Fixes all problems, gives a little more mobility.

    You never played it when it was a plugin for an admin mod in the original game. Was useful for getting already morphed gorges to high up places to put down hydras as a counter to nadespam.

    i played it in the original ns and was allways cussing at the lerks trying to get me somewhere "safe".

    Gorge has to use lerk...

    Lerk doesn't want to lift gorge, doesn't want to help gorge, gorge ends up half a map away from where he wants to be.

    Gorge is building, he doesn't want to be moved, gorge ends up half a map away from where he wants to be.

    This is just one simple example for each use scenario, there are too many reasons why this doesn't work in the long run. It is a mechanic that is open to constant griefing and there isn't anything that can be done to counter it.

    You called it an idea, which is why I had assumed you never done it.

    Besides, I'd like to understand why you are calling it a bad idea, rather than just insulting it... :)
