A Public Warning: [dogs] Server Admins

I was playing on the [DOGS] clan server about 2 days ago.

Map: Bast

Me and another alien were in the marine spawn ruthlessly parasiting every marine (to the point the comm had to give them med packs to keep them alive). In spite of this, they were too incredibly stupid to find us. (Well, they knew that my teammate was up in the vent because they were trying to make a human ladder, but they didn't know I was hiding behind one of the pillars right in the room.) One of the [DOGS] was playing marine. The other 2 were spectators. Apparently they felt sorry for their stupid clanmate so they used admin_mod to admin_slap me (5 pt health reduction and you are physically moved a bit) repeatedly until the managed to knock me out into the room where the turrets quickly finished off the 4 health I had left after being slapped. At that point, I didn't care because I was fuming mad. I asked to be banned so I didn't accidentally go back to their server (I don't usually check server names, just ping and occupancy) and they wouldn't. They laughed about how I had been killed in the vents by LMG (no, that was my teammate in the vent morons) and not by slapping and seemed to think that admin abuse was just fine and amusing.

Suffice it to say that I'd strongly advise against playing with power-hungry, skilless, "our-clan-can-do-no-wrong" admins or players. The [DOGS] clan contains at least 1 of these admins (I don't know which of the 2 observers was doing the slapping). Play there at your own risk.

    you know, a "DON'T play on these servers list would be just as useful as a "good player/good server" list! I personally have only come across 1 or 2, but I don't think I'd remember playing there until I meet the admins again.

    Hello, I am an admin on [DoGS] and a founding member of the clan. I was there at the time of the incident. No admins slapped you according to our logs, but you kept on accusing us of it. Whenever we use the slap feature, everybody receives an admin message saying which admin slapped which player. The ability was added in hopes of getting players unstuck from certain buggy parts of maps. Unfortunately it doesn't work, so we only use it when we are goofing off in the ready room.

    We did not appreciate you swearing at us without giving us the time to explain what happened. You were not kicked or banned, but we do not tolerate that kind of behavior.

    When the server is low on players we occasionally will play with modified rules and do some "fun mode" kind of things. We inform the players before this happens so they know they are not playing a serious game.

    Actually....[DOGS] server is probably my favorite next to the MMZ server. I play there often and have never, EVER seen them do anything wrong with admin powers.......EVER.


    Like i said in a previous thread on this subject (different server) you cant think the server is bad just because he said so. For all you know he could have been saying racist comments or exploiting or something. You dont know the whole story, so please when someone says something like OMGOMGOMOG ADMIN ABOOSE111! DONT PLAY Herre!!1 Just remember, theres always two sides to every story.


    PS. I advise anyone looking for a server to play there. Although its not showing up on my ASE today D:

    Since our server is hosted at a workplace, it is not open during workhours. The server is open 24 hours on Weekends. It is closed from 8am-5pm CST.

    Um... I don't see any "ABOOOSEEE!!111" style writing except in your post. There were no racist comments, and no swearing as I believe both detract from the game. The only thing I was doing was mercilessly parasiting stupid marines who didn't have the brains to look around their room.

    As for the admin here, I don't recognize your name so I don't believe you were there, but believe me I was slapped at least 5 times. There were 3 [dogs] on at the time and 2 were observers. The other was marine. I didn't think to take a console screenshot unfortunately so there's no way I can prove it. However, I'd suggest you look seriously at what powers you give you clanmates (or who you let in your clan for that matter).

    EDIT: And yes, I did see the "admin_slap" message you mentioned. I've used admin_mod on my own servers before and am aware of how it works.

    I wasnt really aiming at you, although now that i read my post again again i see it xould be very easily interpreted as that.

    I was just tyring to explain to people that they shouldnt pass judgment on a server by what just one person says with no proof.
