Power nodes

It seems that power nodes are really weak late game. Is there any chance we could look into an upgrade to the node that the commander could purchase?

How do you define weak? They fulfill a simple purpose: to power an area.

One onos runs in and drops the power node in 5 seconds. Blocking with factory shouldn't be the solution. You should be able to protect it more.

I heard they nerfed Smash in the next patch, so we'll see if it's less effective for the Onos to press on the power. It is admittedly very spammable in B201 :P

Hopefully the Power Pack will be implemented soon to lessen the disadvantage of weak nodes late game.

Allow marines to reinforce power nodes to be honest, that should solve their weak game weakness.

Obvious idea is obvious. electrify power nodes. Doesn't solve the onos problem. Just an old ns1 solution to skulks chewing up stuff on the cold side if the map.

Shielding the power node when an Onos is attacking it does wonders for buying time.

perhaps allowing welders to "over repair" power nodes, increasing it's health. research available after unlocking welders?

Not a fan of electrifying NS2 has less range attacks than NS1.

I would also wait for the smash nerf to see if it sorts itself out.

id like to see powernodes offer some sort of strategic advantage, giving marines the option to build them or not, and not just be a usless prerequisit function

systs on the other hand actuly offer benifits to their team

it's needed, like investation for aliens, to build on. like a pylon for protoss in sc2.
it's not yet perfect balanced, but I think it's an interessting addition to the game

How much more time will be invested (edit: wasted) in balancing and implementing power-nodes before we all realise it's pointless and is only good for turning on the lights?

Yea, it's frustrating to always have to tell teammates not to waste time biting power nodes because they can be restored in like 5 seconds at no cost. (At least cysts cost p.res for the alien comm) Time they could have spent biting the actual extractor.

Really hope they address this, make power nodes more tactical to take out outside the main base (or forward based) but also make them more durable later in the game.

2nd suggestion. power packs acting as a backup with a limited "lifespan" once the room's main power goes down. say 10-15 seconds after power goes down, power pack goes dead (or destroyed by aliens).
