Random freezing and lag

So I haven't played since Build 183 and a lot of stuff have happened since that. Appears new problems appeard too... I can play fine on a resolution of 1680x1050 on high quality setting. No lag as I start the game and no lag when I run around. But for some reason when I start jumping and biting after marines, minor lag kicks in and it often leaves me dead. After 5 minutes of this, my game suddenly freezes for no reason... I can still open the menu, but everything thing else is frozen. TAB, chat, players, everything.

    Same thing happens to me, started last weekend. It's extremely frustrating and it doesn't seem to happen to everyone. I freeze inside my player model for about 20-30 seconds every couple minutes.

    You sure it's not the server choke/crashes? I've experienced the same but it's because of the low server tick-rate late game, and the occasional crash will leave you wigged out inside your model just like the OP described.

    It still happens right at the beginning of the game and I don't crash. I come out of the freeze after 20-30 seconds. During the freeze I can hear a sound loop of whatever I was doing, the game doesn't lock up. It happens on every single server I've played on.

    I have had this happen also, its very different then the momentary pauses when a server lags or chokes, it usually lasts for 20 to 30 seconds atleast and the game is still responsive, just nothing updates. Generally when you finally come out of it you have 999 ping but no one else does. Its almost like the server stops sending you updates.

    Check firewalls etc? and when it 'freezes' a little does it "warp" (stutter and not actually full on freeze) because if it does, it's a processor issue. But if it's latency I got no idea
