<div class="IPBDescription">Running Bootcamp on MacBook Pro</div>Hi guys,

Can't get the game to run at all, I've tried verifying the game cache and deleting it and redownloading it with similar results.

Basically I go to open the game and it opens the small dialogue box saying 'Launching Natural Selection 2...' then nothing happens. When I try running the game through the NS2.exe file it says the application failed to initialize properly (joy!).

Also the shortcut for Natural Selection 2 which appears on my desktop comes up with no real icon and looks like a broken link (not sure if this is relevant as it still works in trying to launch the game, but with the same results).

I'm running bootcamp (windows xp) on my Macbook pro and its system info is the following:

Am I totally derping out and trying to run NS2 on a machine that's incapable? I am getting a new PC built for moi for the release of Guild Wars 2 which will be more than capable (I would imagine) of running NS2, so if that's the case it's not the end of the world.

Thanks guys,
Wiseguy

You won't need to get it started, as you still won't be able to play it.
The hardware will not be able to run it properly.

My first guess would be hardware / driver issues, though.

    I'm sorry, I can't help you more here :-/.

ps: look at the bright side: You will have a more polished game, when you get your new rig.

Not bumping or anything but found a fix:

    <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/softwares/download-directx-10-for-windows-xp.html" target="_blank">Directx10 for Windows XP</a>

Problem was XP doesnt support anything past Directx9 unless you install something like the link above.

Either way I'm sorted and playing, despite it being on Awful graphics better something than nothing :)
New rig arrives on Thursday so I'll see you all in game!
