Onos Tips

its not just bite and charge...
Ok, when your onos you should have all 3 levels of all upgrades, i suggest getting: Regen / Adren / Cloak

Ok if they havent got observatory :

1) Wait outside base cloaked until a group, or a marine comes, kill him / them

2) Rush the base, use charge ( yes charge ) to take out turret factory, if you cant stay still attacking it with charge, duck and attack it.

3)Run back, cloak and heal.

4)Rush again taking out marines then getting their infantry portals.

5)Run back and heal for a bit then

6)Rush there CC killing marines on the way.

If they have an observatory, rush in killing that then rush out cloak and heal and repeat the previous steps.

I think regen is a huge waste on Onos. When you got a big tank, you should armor it well. Secondly, regen goes so slow, it is a big waste of time.

This is the way I play:

Get Onos, get Adren, Carapace, Cloak

Get to their base, and then primal scream and run in. By the time you are in, you should have full energy (regen from the scream). Take out a crapload of turrets and run away. While running away, use Charge to speed your escape, and to get to the D chambers in seconds. Heal up (way faster than regen), charge all the way back, primal scream, same deal, except work on other things, like IP's, factory, CC, whatever. Since you took out turrets, the other aliens have probably won the game anyways. (Remember, you can take out turrets faster than the factory)

Sure, an ono doesn't worry much about turrets and could maybe take out the TF in a head on assault, but the fades / skulks can still get hurt by turrets, and if there's enough marines / turrets in the base, you might have to run out before the TF is down. Take out 3-4 turrets (which you'll be able to do 99% of the time), and the rest of your team will finish it off while you heal at a D chamber.

Regen (now that its percentage based) gives Onos about 30HP per second, which i find to be far more damage healed than would be blocked by armor.

I take regen, adren, scent. Scent because you usually get onos at endgame, and marine have a tendancy to run off. Scent makes it easier to find them.

Hmm, you have no defence near you? Oh oh your **obscenity**...

You either run to hive, wasting more time then regening or you get killed trying.

why do people run off and hide to regen all i do as fade with regen is fall back but keep my acid rockets splashing of corners or the floor there walking towards which ither does 3 things makes them run off, get skilled or have them there waiting for me to run out of nrg which dosent happen since i only fire half my nrg at a time so i always got some incase of the odd marine who trys to be a hero and kill me or to blink out of a tight situation. so whilst i am falling back keeping them pinned i am regening but also making use of my self.

Tips for playing as an onos is like telling someone how to press a button. You have won already anyways by the time you get onos, and there is no real skillful or sneaky strategies to use as an onos.
Carapace owns regen provided you have def towers somewhat nearby, paralyze quickly takes down any attempts of jetpacked marines to leave their base, and primal scream should ALWAYS be used. That is about all someone needs to know while playing as an onos...

    Carapace/Adrenaline/Scent of Fear.

Adrenaline is essential imho. Makes charging and biting so much easier.
