(Hopefully) Official Weekly NS2 Podcast
As the Natural Selection 2 community continues to grow and flourish, we need more macro scale activities and programs to tie the group together as a whole. An official weekly podcast (a radio program on the internet in downloadable form) that talks about things going on within the community as well as helps to promote the different aspects and individuals in the community would be a great addition to productions that already take place during the week. We could easily air news, events, schedules for competitive matches and scrims, as well as community announcements and PSAs.
I've put a lot of broadcasts together, including some for actual terrestrial broadcast, so that's not going to be hard at all. What I will need are individuals and groups willing to post about and/or promote the broadcasts. The more spread through and outside the community it has, the more people will not only get into the game, but contribute more to the community overall. I'm going to need funds to host the Liberated Syndication account. They handle all the RSS and distribution, and one only has to pay for the actual space taken up by the host files, so it's easily the cheapest method beyond just setting EVERYTHING up ourselves. I'd also like to have UWEs approval of the project once I have a show outline set up and ready to go. Front page posts on the main NS2 site will help legitimize the broadcast as a general information and discussion outlet.
Beyond these things I can handle the rest of the development and production myself. I'll be able to bring team leaders, developers, and other vital community members on air to discuss pressing issues, patch notes, tournaments, and anything else that might run the gamut. Once I have a show outline put together I'll be posting it here as an edit.
Thanks,
Leto

Can I make a suggestion? I am a regular consumer of podcast style gaming content, but I don't think I have downloaded a podcast in mp3 form via something like libsyn in well over a year.
My suggestion would be to broadcast the podcast live using twitch.tv, and have replays available via youtube.com
See "The Gamestation Podcast" or numerous Starcraft 2 podcats for good examples of this.
Example "The Gamestation Podcast":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvZWyDnvtaY
No reason not to also have it available via libsyn, but I feel like there is a much larger audience out there through twitch.tv and youtube.com
HEY! HEY YOU! YAH YOU GUY/GURL READING THIS! POST YER IDEAS! DO IT NAO!
Causticsoda: Youtube is nice and all, but I can't post up a half hour or 45 minute podcast all at once. I can break the weekly shows down into chunks and post that way maybe. Live broadcast is something I can do as well for it, but the main medium will be downloads.
And for the record, Leo Laport would like to have a word with you about not having an audience through LibSyn, some of his affiliate shows go through there. :P
ALWAYS add the itunes, easiest way for people to subscribe and find out more about your product. I'm not much for apple, but I love me some itunes and my iPhone.
>insert amount of Ipads related joke<
@Leto I think title can only be changed by the mighty Admins
Keep posting ideas for what you'd like to hear on a weekly NS2 podcast guys. I need more ideas and brainstorming.
Few things;
Some coverage of Team Matches (brief narrative on how the match went along with the important statistics per game), Interviews with Team leaders as well as NS2Dev's/Squad Five contributors and the Occasional "Fun Night" in the sense of maybe gathering some players along with regular NS2 Clans or their respective server owner's to talk about some key points or issues developing within the NS2 Community.
