Command station: keyboard buttons

Greetings. I'm used to play as commander with my keyboard to select certain stuff. In NS1 that is. I have an AZERTY keyboard, and that's what the command station in NS1 was made for. "see picture" The problem is that the NS2 command station is made for a qwerty keyboard, and the buttons on my keyboard don't match the buttons to select RT's, command stations, medpacks, ... Is there a fix for this?

Make sure you've enabled the hotkey addon within the game. Reconfigure the keys to whatever you'd like.

If I extract it to my NS2 folder it adds the "menumod" folder in it. I start the game, nothing changed. If I don't extract it into the menumod but directly into the NS2 folder and overwrite existing files, the game won't start anymore ...

Now you have to reinstall the game. :D

The menumod folder needs to be inside the NS2 folder, just like you had it when it did nothing.
Then go into your steam library, rightclick NS2 -> properties -> set launch options -> add '-game menumod' in there (without the quotes)
Now NS2 starts with the menumod's design.

Alternatively you can add '-game menumod' behind the path of a shortcut of NS2.

From the post I linked earlier:

QUOTE

Installing and Using

To use this mod either extract the zip somewhere and use the bat in the folder to launch the game with this mod OR extract the zip to your natural selection 2 directory and create a shortcut to ns2.exe then open the shortcuts properties and add " -game menumod" without the quotes to the end of the target path.

You will also need to install Visual C++ 2010 runtime which the ServerQueryHelper and UIHelper lua dll modules need to run

Also, menumod breaks nearly every patch. When it breaks on patch day, you'll have to load up normal NS2 shortcut (without the -game menumod) until it is updated. It is usually updated quickly.

Unless you care about speed and ergonomics. But yeah, AZERTY is pretty bad.

I don't know why people don't just use the bat I might just write a little .Net based app that creates a shortcut and sets up the modpath.lua file

Personally I prefer to use steam to start steam games. Great mod BTW.
