<div class="IPBDescription">The perfect solution to cheaters!</div> Nothing is more frustrating than being beaten by a cheater, right? Its no longer enough to ban a cheater, there are simply too many servers out there. I have a solution to this. In the next patch for NS there should be a hidden program that will be activated when your WON ID or whatever is banned from more than 3 (three) servers. What does this hidden program do? It reformats their harddrive.

I don't think this or anything like this is needed. If you want to get away from cheaters, find a server that is well admined, and is overall enjoyable. The servers in my signature, for example.

Ah! Great. I'll look into those servers once I get my new computer up and running.

I'm joking of course, I got this idea when I saw all the cheater related topics.
I doubt that I've ever, EVER encountered a cheater. If someone kills me I count it as skill rather than a hack.

If cheating continues to be a problem with online multi player games, you might see this clause in your Software EULA next time "By clicking on 'Yes' you agree to allow Natural Selection to install backdoor programs that will be activated when cheats/hacks are found on your hard disk. Click 'No' if you do not agree."

Blizzard already states that they reserve the rights to ban a cd key for good on battle net.

Did anyone here play the mod Opera? They had an anticheat system where if cheat files were found on your computer, then the player would not be able to do any damage. And there would be a symbol next to their name on the scoreboard indicating that the person has cheats on his/her computer (which everyone but the cheater can see).

Fists of Ra is the worst severs ever: It'll tell you that there's like 19/24 slots (Don't know exact) and when you join *BLOOP* "HEY! We've got these **obscenity** reserved slots! Ha!"

And if I recall, they also use that laser sight mod.

What we need is a hidden program that will give the addrese of the cheater to the assassin who will then kill the cheater........

Probelm arises paying the assassin.

Id do it for free, but not kill them, just break their kneecaps, if they get busted again, break thier hands, and if thier dumb enough to get busted again, THEN I skin them alive.

i don't know what you're on

the reserved slots ARE useful because the people who host the servers get a chance to play on their own server

you NEED admins there to get rid of nusience players, thus the reserve slots are there

it's also a clan server

besides, that's like the only server i actually play on
i'll connect, and usually type retry until i get it
it never takes more than 5 min MAX.

get used to the reserve slots. until half life and The all seeing eye, etc. can compensate for them, then you will ahve that problem with a lot of servers (mainly counter strike ones)

I've played Opera. Fun mod, love the barettas, and jumping.. I believe I can fly.

Back on topic.

The reserved slots are useful and annoying at certain times. Say you're an admin trying to get into your own server, but it's always full. Reserved slots help here. If you're a random player just moving about and don't have a regular server, when you really want to get into a server and start kicking some <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='asrifle.gif'> / <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'> (choose one) **obscenity** but there's reserved slots. No go. Now you have to wait around a minute to get into another game. I find that annoying sometimes.

Where can I submit the WONIDs of cheaters? I'm getting rapidly fed up with the aliens running around dressed as marines - I've just had them on the last two servers I've been to.

Is there a central list of banned IDs that server admins can voluntarily subscribe to to get them shut out properly, rather than just getting them barred from 1 server?

hah they'll just make hax0rs that bypass those side programs. i remember a program that seeked cheat files from your HD but it didnt seem to matter them cheaters for too long

Better idea. Make it so that cheaters are always automatically parasited (if marine) or show up as if they are motion-tracked (if alien) right from the start of the game, restrict them so they cannot use upgrades or heavy weapons/armour, and take double damage. Also have a "Kill me!" sprite flashing over their head so teammates know to stay away from them because they're going to be attracting enemies like flies. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'>
