Hi, I'm about 1 day old to mapping, and at first the map had no light effects E.G I did not need to place lights to see the textures.
However, after loading an example map, I discovered that what I will call the default ambient light had gone, E.G all the textures are black. I've tried making an entirely new mod in the launchpad, but the problem persists.
Is there an option to change this, or is it a bug/unchangeable

Just put some lights there... or make a big ambient light that lights up your black textures again in whole map.

*If you are in the editor, where you are using the perspective mode example, you must push the "perspective" text with left mouse button and select option "Textured unlit"

If you put in a "big ambient light" you can make sure it lights up the whole map by selecting it with the selection tool. The blue circle which will appear shows you how far the light is emitted.

(when i started mapping i sometimes got the problem that my light was spawned on y=~39000. Therefore it was too far away to light anything up.)

Thanks Alot. I did try the big ambient light, but at around size 3500 a orb of darkness appeared as size 0 ( so size 4000 light = size 500 darkness orb) but the unlit texture option worked :)
