I'm very new to the community and started playing on Friday. This game is a ton of fun, but I feel like kill-assists would make the teamwork aspect a little more tempting. I searched for threads on this topic, but only found ones that were 2+ years old.
Right now, I could take my target from full to 10% health but - if someone runs in with the last hit - they get all the points. From a balance perspective, I don't know the point distribution would work... but anything is better than nothing.
I feel likes it's a small addition that will encourage more teamwork and keep people sticking together instead of running off on their own to get more credit for kills.
Could even use the TF2-style for the ticker in the top-right. Player 1 + Player 2 (kill icon) Player 3. (http://i.imgur.com/3Lnxc.jpg)

Seriously, does anybody look at what happens in the top right part?

Personally, I like the kill notifications... but I can see what you mean about it obscuring the actual objective. It's just kinda fun to see one guy wipe out like 3 marines and be like 'Whoa look at that mofo takin' people out!'
Even with that removed, tho... everyone likes points. We can remove the kill ticker and still have some sort of assist-system in place to reward 2 or 3 people teaming up to take down certain targets. Removing a kill tracker wouldn't bother many people, I'd wager... but removing all points would be kinda silly. We need <i>some </i>way to track who is or isn't pulling their weight, and - vice versa - who is doing an extraordinary job.
I am very glad to hear that this may be implemented soon. =)
I think kill notifications could be removed, I don't really pay enough attention to notice somebody getting down 3 skulks, though it happens sometimes, but it doesn't really makes much sense and usually also mostly there isn't much to look at. But if I actually see somebody taking down one skulk with rifle and pistol-wipe another in mid air that what is really worth to look at and gives much more of the awesome feeling than the notifications.
Maybe add an option to disable them so some of us could just try it out and we might have feedback on our experience, maybe I exaggerated things a bit, but for now I think I don't really need those notifications. Will take a closer look at it next time I play =)
how the kill markers are currently I dont mind. when something dies I'm mainly just glad that its dead and dont really care who gets the kill
