I have just started a release thread for the <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/index.php?showtopic=120288" target="_blank">fire breathing lerk</a> mod.
Currently in early stages, it is not ready for release, but here's a quick video of it in action so far..

For sure! I used spikes as the base when creating the flamethrower ability, but changing to the mouth view is one of many tweaks needed :)
We'll see once I get it working fully, I might make it come out of both ends, CURRY Lerk!
one thing you might test is wether the fire will burn away the lerk's own spores, which would be quite unfortunate.
since marines have neither energy nor whips, this could actually turn out nicely balanced.
You can see us testing that firing and sporing. Unfortunately, at the moment the fire damages nothing, this is purely because in NS2 code Marines are non-flammable, and fire does not hurt friendly players. I will make adjustments to the marine uniform to ensure proper fires take root on contact.

Also random power words in maps so lerks can learn Dragon Shouts.
