<div class="IPBDescription">Gorge can enter alien structures</div>Ok, I would like to submit a new Gorge mechanic considering how vulnerable the little thing is without a nice ramp to slide down...
A gorge can enter Alien structures by pressing E on the structure (holding E can still destroy it) and it would allow the Gorge to quickly hide within his clogs, Alien Harvesters, Crags, Shifts and Shades. This would make chasing down a Gorge much harder and give it a chance to live. It also fits well into the look of the Gorge as it has the appearance of a burrowing rodent.
If a structure with a Gorge inside of it dies the Gorge pops out...
While in a structure the Gorge gets an RTS view of the surrounding area (not unlike a Comm/Khamm) and can "log-out" whenever it wants. He could potentially also have some options in his RTS view such as placing a cyst or spreading some infestation... Or some other mechanic...
I'm not sure whether or not it is a good idea to allow it to jump into a hydra, considering a gorge is roughly twice the size of a Hydra it doesn't make much sense...

False. A gorge cannot escape a Jet Packer or regular Marines without a decent ramp and enough turns to evade bullets... And to further expand on your point, Gorges usually don't have the luxury of going Celerity as they need Adrenaline to keep up with the demands for healing and bile-bombing in mid-late game play.
Early game celerity gorges can escape at least 75% of the time when they are on their own. If you get surrounded or surprised you should die. I know several gorges who are nearly invincible early game. If you are a casual gorge player i can understand how weak you can feel, but in that case you should stay in more protected areas and don't get stuck defending an entire side of the map by yourself.
As for marines with jet packs, I don't think a gorge should ever be able to outrun jet pack unless you have strategic defenses that you escape into or get saved by teammates. Celerity or Adrenaline is a choice and changes the way gorge plays. When i get adrenaline i either stay with my team for protection or suicide bilebomb rush.
I think gorges are almost perfect the way they currently are. They work well for casual players and higher skill players can dominate with them.
Great, it sounds like we agree 100%.
I'm curious by your definition of "dominate" when you say "[...]and higher skill players can dominate with them. "
I've never seen someone playing a Gorge get a 3 to 1 K/D ratio, so please define dominate.
Ex: aliens spawned in generator, I rushed down to secure terminal and block way to landing pad with clogs/hydras. I held the entire right side down to terminal by myself until we got our 3rd hive up there. Marines tried to flank from courtyard into terminal, so i just 'E" destroyed a block and jumped over my barrier into landing pad. killed them after a minute of shinanigans, then re-setup.
2-3 gorges with cara and heal spray almost never die before 10min mark. Spit does a bunch of damage too, you just need to either shoot in a straight line or do the impossible and lead your target (I'm finally getting better at that).
20min into game, marines start to come back. So i get camo and adren, and I single handedly take out cafeteria node/base while they are charging generator.
Gorges make more of an impact on gameplay than any other lifeform. Most OP class (yes more than fade)
