219 Performance

First off, obligatory specs:
Q6600 2.4(stock) oc'ed to 3.46ghz
4gb RAM @ just under 800mhz FSB
Geforce 550Ti GTX 1GB
Win 7 64 bit fresh install
latest beta nVidia drivers set to Performance with VSync on

218 was an amazing build for me. I got a solid 45 fps mostly everywhere until late game, where it was dipping to sub 30s at times. Understandable, as I know my system is sort of gross by today's standards. Then, 219 rolls around. Amazing framerates with the same settings (actually nothing at all changed settings-wise, and they don't seem to make a drastic difference anyway). Usually 50+ with High textures and most settings turned on. Mid game comes around: 45 fps..... 45 fps........ 3 fps..... 4 fps.... 3 fps.... 45 fps. Constantly. Like, not every minute or so, but every 15 seconds give or take. Like it's trying to load new textures or something. It's basically a slideshow for 5 seconds every 15 seconds. Tried with texture streaming (I forget if that's the exact name) on and off, and got the same result.

My question is this: what changed between builds, and how can I get the performance of 218? I absolutely love this game and have been following it's development since it was announced back in 2007 or whenever. It's just disheartening to have it finally be playable in 218 to a level that I was actually enjoying the fluidity of gameplay, and then have it taken away in 219. Please help! Thanks in advance.

Maybe more ram. Turn on r_stats 1 to see whats affecting framerates.

type r_stats in the console. net_stats is also rather useful to see the server-tickrate as this can influence the client's fps.

Maybe few patches before. Most of the time is spent in GUIMinimap:Update and Entity:Update(Physics).

You should use p_logall in console and get the log to devs.
