Keep in mind I review all posts before officially putting them on.

So it will be concrete that a cheat is a cheater listed on the site.

Yeah, I just saw one of those skin changing thingies.

He joins Aliens, turns into a Marine, summons an LMG, Knife, and Pistol and procedes to attack the Marines.

I asked him why, just to try to understand why he would do such a thing. Turns out he wasn't arrogant for frags at all.

He said that we should all go play Q3 or something because HL was based off of Q2 engine technology and should let it die.

I say that it is fun, so no one cares about technology. The purpose of a game is to have fun, not push pixels for the sake of pushing pixels. Graphics don't make a game, gameplay does.

Wish I would have nabbed his WON ID or some screenies or something. He played by the name of "T" after changing his name from something starting with Newbie. It was on Spies.com at about 11:00 Central Time or so. I may be an hour or so off, Arizona time is funky (no Daylight Savings). Someone else said they would spread the word about him.

Everyone's using the skinhack it seems. There's no real point singling anyone out and banning every occurence, we just need to yell at them over and over until the patch comes out is all. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'>

the patch is already out. no sense banning everybody that used a commonly known, simple way to cheat that has promptly been fixed already anyway. they can't do it again. in some ways it's good these morons are around, cause they help the developers and users find flaws in the game and fix them. that's the beauty of pc games.

That Alien with marine skin and weps bug doesn't really ruin the game for me, but rather it shows me a glimpse of the possible marine vs marine combat in the future

And proof exactly is what? What would be considered proof? A screenshot. that can be altered in any paint program? A demo, which doesn't include First person view? It would really suck *** too be really good at NS and someone starts gossip that So and so's a cheater putting Wonid and all up with the "proof" of a screenshot. You do realize this issue is sensitive and you don't want to be held responsible for making stupid judgments. I'm not satisfied by you saying that "you" review. Its just to big an issue for you to be control of. I wouldn't want some Dumb**** photoshopper to go and make me on pretty much a BANNED FOREVER site by manipulating a screenshot and sending it to your site. By the way I don't know how to even hack.

What I would suggest is an "only" demo upload. No screenshots. And it would be advisable to have on your site "how" to make a demo. Screenshots cannot be reliable proof to be put onto a blaklist and possibly ruin someones NS experience forever. I know we all want to get the damn cheaters and hackers but Even demo's are hard to tell. And even if you've done this kinda thing before who's to say your the perfect eye to tell when people are cheating or not.

Also its a pretty bad feeling to come up with some unique creative user name only to be blacklisted with that name and never be able to use it again because that name was listed on your site. What about the thousands of people who share some same name but don't know it. Maybe two NS players out there have their names as simply Jeremy. So Jeremy is listed on your site and Oh no, lets kick this guy that just came ont he server because his name is also Jeremy, so it must be him.

I agree that it should be by Demo, and if possible have the demo listed so admins cand check it out themselves with a wallhack (used to see if guy in demo is wallhacking/aimbotting) and can decide themselves. And maybe have a repeal forum so that if somebody gets on the list somehow (could even be that their WonID is being used not by them and worse by a cheater) That they have to repeal the decision. As has been pointed out Screenshots can be edited, and if someone is truly vindicitive about a player (I actually had a friend setup by someone because at the time he was undoubtedly the best sniper in TFC, and on many an occasion ive sat and watched him play, and I know that no funny business was going on apart from his highly developed reaction speed, and uncanny sense for anticipating their movements, and he had many people contest him at Lans only to have them watch him in disbelief as he managed to skillfully contest everyone while being looked over the shoulder by admins. Who also ran checks on his computer to look for any cheats, so if you truly manage to annoy someone you can be setup rather nastily and a screenshot would have to be the most easy way to convict someone. It should be Demo only, but supplemental Screenshots could be added as further evidence (But taken less notice of)

bleh that was what i was going to say ehehe.
also, there is the problem of someone finding a cheater, takes a demo and submits it to you, but he sends in the wonid of a guy he hates instead of the cheater.
i also don't see any place where these "convicted" cheaters can try to prove they did not cheat or if any server administrators suport your project.

will we non participants in your project be able to see these demos too? to see if we think said person realy is a cheater for ourselves and not just blindly take your word for it.

oh and a question, lag is recorded on the demos too right? well that would make it a bit harder to see non cheaters
since for example a guy once screamed he stabed me lots of times until i nailguned him (i was a lerk <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'> ) he had like 100 - 150
more in ping than me at the time,
so i'm sure that on his screen he sees him stabing me, while on my screen i see him stabing air and
the litle green puffs erupting all over his body from my nails while i go backwards.

The skin hacks can't be that common? I have never seen one. Anyway it's good that it's fixed now.

it's actually based on the Q1 engine AFAIK
