<div class="IPBDescription">babby!</div> Anyone notice that sometimes you have to aim at the right angle to spawn them? Anyone know a trick to get em to come out every time?
YES I KNOW ABOUT BABBLERS!!! okay first of all, you must aim vertically or a lil higher then you normal middle aim. if you don't, start laughing at the babblers stuck in the ground and sinking and sinking.... till it;s gone.if you aim right, they'll pop up ,ready to attack. plus, i you aim a lil higher, you'll make them spawn in mid-air, and the boost that you give them makes them fly foward at a medium rate for 2 or 1 seconds. use babbles when marines are attacking you, or if you are attacking them. get andrenline for more enregy and you can spawn more and more. Babblers are a whole a lot like onos when you group them up. so spawn as much as you can.
I tend to jump, look up and move forward as I jump to send my babblers leaping into the marines, or marine structures. Gives them an extra boost, gets them a bit further and if i keep up the babblers I can usually spam a room full and elay the marines (Throw in a few real skulks and then its even more fun as the marines think nothing of babblers, they have low HP but with a few real skulks around, they start to panic.
you know... people rave about babblers because they are such an imaginative and original weapon for an fps type game. but quite frankly i think they are about as effective as a laugh taunt. sure they might frighten marines for a few seconds and make a few turrets miss their mark, but other than that they don't help me as much as webbing, spitting and healing spray.
as a marine, when i see babblers i don't feel threatened at all. whereas with spit, webs, and healing spray i approach the situation with more caution. i've never been babbled to death and i've only gotten one or two babbler kills in my time as a gorge and this is after many encounters with them and many tries at using them, so i don't bother with them. in fact i put their use below sensory upgrades which almost never use. would be nice if the dev team beefed up their effectiveness but of course they won't.
The reasons to use bablers: They are a good annoyance for turrets They are a good pita for the marines that are trying to take out a hive They are just so CUTE!!!!!!!!
Reasons not to use them: They are stupid as a slug They are a pain to spawn They are an annoying excuse for a half dead and dying skulk They dont climb stairs (They can do ramps) They cant go up those little inclines on maps such as NS_Bast unless you throw them up there

Hey, babblers are great. On many occasions, I have used webs and babblers to deadly effect. At one point I had the whole marine spawn tied up with webs and babblers. Never underestimate a marine's need to shoot the little buggers, a gorge can survive for a long time giving the marines new targets.

I like babblers, I just think they're way too weak for a 4th slot attack. They are good at attacking structures, but by that point most of the structures are gone, because the onos have arrived, the bile bombs are flying, and spore clouds are killing the marines as fast as they spawn. They're such a fun weapon, I wish they would turn spit into a vicious killing machine suitable as a final attack, then switch babblers for spit as slots 1 and 4.
given that gorges arent meant to take down buildings at all on their own, and now they have a weapon which can tear the heck outta buildings faster than really anything (other than onos) if used correctly, i dont think its a bad deal. gorges arent a combat class. dont expect an earth shattering 4th attack. not to mention, noone should really be relying on that 4th attack. by that point the game should be over already.
babbler uses: 1) annoying marine turretfarm around the corner? babblers will make relatively quick, and completely painfree work of it. 2) assaulting marine base? babblers can be almost as effective as umbra since it gives marines other things to shoot at, confusing the heck outta them, drawing fire from the actual targets, doing damage of their own, and expending their ammo. 3) webbed a marine? babbler him and cackle as the babbler kill icon comes up next to yr name. 4) being rushed by a marine? commence with use #3. 5) wanna just **obscenity** marines off and waste their time? they really cant move on unless they know that yr babbler spitting butt is dealt with. noone wants to leave an outpost knowing babblers will be flying at it over and over, cos eventually, they'll get thru no matter how many turrets are there.
theres a million other uses, including making 3 diff types of fries and cleaning yr room, however to the point? you now do real damage as a gorge. its a priviledge, not a right. and 2, its a 4th attack. dont expect to get them and dont rely on them.
Babblers are my favourite Frgigng weapon!!!. and your right, the gorge was'nt meant for battle, just builder and support medic or sumthing. Babblers a really funny , cause they're look so dumb and cute (hehe) when they're not fighting, they're hilarious look dumb as they are running slowly in a direction and their heads a looking at the right or left (LOL). but theses are like the best weapons i used, escpecially with webs. web them, then spawn some babblers. Sure babblers are weak, but tif you use lvl 3 andrenaline, scent of fear, and regenerate, you're pretty much a combat gorge or offensive gorge. with andrenaline, you can spawn so much frigging babblers and kill all the mairnes and sturcutures.
Why babblers are so good:
- the best offensive weapon for gorges - the best defensivve weapon to use too - Good for annoying marines and turrets - marines waste ammo on these - marines keep getting hit by babblers (really bad for marines if you make a hell a lot of babblers)
-marines sturcutres will die when babblers keep striking it (really deadly if you make babblers attack the infrantry portal, they respawn, they're automatically attacked by 10 babblers <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> )
Babblers are great when you combine them with other players, or if you make oc and help attack
Why babblers suck - uses up a lot of energy (won't be a problem with lvl 3 andrenaline)
- won't spawn if you aim too low
- very weak (spawn a lot then they are really deadly)
- Very dumb (what did you espect? if the bablers are smart, it'll frigging overwhelm the marines)
babblers are the best thing there is vs resource towers! if u have lev3 adrenaline you can down a full marine resource tower in what, 20-25 seconds? hell skulks can barely do it quicker. love the babbler! caress it and hug it and love it and name it george. george the babbler. yea thats it.
