How does one exit Exosuit?

Had a situation where Aliens were attacking main base and the commander put an infantry portal at our secondary base. I was alone there in an Exosuit and we could've recovered from the attack if only I could exit the Exosuit to build it. Mashed all the buttons I could, but couldn't exit the Exo. So embarassing :D

you can't exit the suit you have to die to get out

Doesn't make any logical sense that you can't exit the Exo, but at least it's good to know. Thanks.

I think I saw a tweet about there being an eject button eventually. Hopefully a violent one that fires you upwards.

I'd love to jump out of an EXO and have it do the "beep beep" alarm sound so that EXO is yours for about 20s maybe, while you step out to construct some stuff

An eject button was definitely talked about.

    Look forward to it

I'm thinking of an exo eject to axe attack on a lerk and back into the exo suite again. Like a boss.

Nanites are advanced microscopic nanotechnology that bind the marines legs into the exo itself thus making it impossible to exit.

I guess they made it that way because it would be too over powered if you can weld your own exo suit.

Well, once you step into an EXO you do drop all of your none default gear.

Getting out of the exo suit has not been my priority as much as the ability to interact with objects. E.g. To upgrade dual wielding. I can only imagine that this upgrade was originally intended to be bought by the commander, or by the player while in the exo suit. Being able to weld ones own exo suit while in it is overpowered, but stepping out of the exo suit (stuck in animation for a few seconds) to weld it should be perfectly alright, in fact I dare say that we would have to be extremely careful when doing so as to not get killed by aliens and have our exo suits destroyed. An exo suit with its "cockpit" open could, for instance, take more damage if it takes a heavy beating from the inside. Objects like exo suits, jet packs, welders, mines, shotguns, etc, if spawned on the ground by the commanding marine or dropped by marine foot soldiers intentionally or upon death, should in my opinion be capable of being destroyed by the aliens if they can get their hands on it.

I think I read a note about exo suits yesterday on the bottom of the main menu (are those twitter updates?), that they were going to do something about being able to exit exo suits, and that they wanted a nice big red eject button for it.

There already is an exit button inside the exosuit. It is the big red button placed in the middle of the lower part of your screen. It says "EMERGENCY HATCH RELEASE".

But you can't press it. :(

so people will just eject to avoid dying, ive seen this in other games and all it does is piss the aliens (in this game) off. At least make it more than preventing a death.

The eject button only works when you stand still and are not firing your minigun/punching things. Hold it down for 1 second to eject, so you don't have ... ahh.. premature ejections.

Eject and you only have a welder or axe, no other weapon period. I can see how you might be able to fit a pistol in the exo suit, but I can totally see players ejecting out of a dying exo and pistoling the skulk John Woo style.

Jumping back in the exo introduces a 2 second delay as the 'systems initiate', and the exo cannot move or fire until it's okay.

And please, for the LOVE OF GORGE, change the exo system voice to a pleasant female voice instead of the Soundwave-type voice. Nothing quite like a pleasant female voice saying "Warning, exo suit system breach imminent. Warning, exo suit system breach imminent." as skulks dance around your feet.

Oh yes please, the problem with the robotic voice is, that you don't hear it while in heavy firing action. A pleasant female voice would be more noticeable like that one in docking.

As I read the topic "How does <b>one</b> exit Exosuit" my first thought was this:

    <div align='center'><img src="http://cdn.memegenerator.net/instances/250x250/30023907.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></div>

But beeing able to exit an exosuit is definitely planned, thats what I heard on the NS2 ESL match broadcast.

Fades should be able to rip the gun off of an Exosuit and graft it to themselves.

But yeah, once you're in an Exosuit, you're in it for the long haul. Make sure you have teammates willing to support you in it or I wouldn't bother, to be honest.

The first thing I did when I launched the tutorial map was go Exo!
I was then stuck for 30mins Alt-Tabbing between google and forums looking for a way to exit the suit.
    Alt+F4 did the trick.

The terrible, horrible secret that marine commanders don't want you to know is......you have to cut off the legs of a marine to fit him in the exo. The emergency hatch release actually just jettisons the marine torso in the direction of the nearest infantry portal, where hopefully the nanites will come to his rescue and knit him a new pair o' walkin' shoes.
