Why focus is NEEDED in NS2

For those who don't know in NS1 focus reduced (halved?) attack speed in exchange for double damage attacks. Very good for aliens with good aim.
1) Problems with scaling - Late game skulks are weak, shade hive has no direct combat improving upgrades. Esp against jetpacks focus is a solution to this.
2) Fades are paper. Since most knowledgeable posters agree that fades are supposed to be weaker then NS1 they need to be played with little to no "still time". If your not moving constantly, your a dead fade. BUT since with armor upgrades it takes so many hits to kill a marine, you have to stay still sometimes or you will never kill anything. Solution, focus.
3) Lack of viable alien tech paths. Most people agree that shade first is not viable because it is not nearly as strong a 2 hive combination as shift/crag and aliens are often unable to secure a 3rd hive before the game is mainly decided. However with the addition of focus I think that shade could emerge as a viable alternative tech path.
4) Easy to implement and test. There is no other single change that could be implemented easily and fix multiple acknowledged problems within the game. I know you want ns2 to be different then ns1 but the game is crying out for this fix.

I think in NS1 it halved your attack speed but doubled your damage, sounds reasonable enough.
Someone said that "they" said it was never coming back.
