Key don't work at Steam

I received a key from a friend a lot of time ago, but when I try to use it at Steam get a error message and cant register the game there. I don't find where to download the game here in your site too, can you help me?

    Is it possible that, since you haven't used the key since it was given you a long time ago, your friend used it before you did? Or he gave it to someone else and they used it?

    Your friend likely gave you the original key. Back in the early days of the Alpha, the game was not on Steam so it used non-Steam keys. With the move onto Steam, new keys were issued that are steam capable. Sadly you will need to contact your friend for the new version of the key. Your friend can get the key(s) re-sent from here if they can't find them: <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/retrieve" target="_blank">http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/retrieve</a>

    If it said that the key is in use, he would know why it wouldn't work ego he wouldn't of posted for help? It's not hard to figure that out man.
