freeze crash

You get no chance to report an error, just freezes and says NS2 not responding, happens to all my friends that play and me, we all have good computers no other issues, and up to date drivers, sometimes seems to happen to more than 1 at a time.

Fix it please.

i5 2500k @ 4.3 ghz
8 gigs ram
win 7 64-bit
amd 6950 2gb stock

1920x1080

all settings low/off (hate any lag)

    Confirm, i been playing the beta for 4 years perfectly no issues (apart from performance) But now my game occasionally freezes and i have to force close, its happened twice.

    i5 2500k @ 4.5ghz

    This just happened to me. It just froze. No looping sound, though, just none at all. I had to kill the process.

    Also happened to me today, and a bit ago as well.

    I was on tram going back to elevator platform and scroll wheeled up to change weapons and the game froze, I thought it was just that loading new area framerate issue for a moment, but the game didn't return to normal so I had to ctrl+alt+delete and end process.

    Can someone who is experiencing this issue frequently please make a demo of it?

    You can do so by typing "record AnyNameYouWant" without the quotations in the console (~ key) before joining a game, in the main menu.
    Type "stop" to stop it.
    Then you will find the demo in your %appdata%/natural selection 2/ folder.

    Please zip it to compress the size, and then host it somewhere/provide the link here in this thread.
    The more frequent you are able to reproduce this issue, the smaller the length and size of the demo will be - so if you have to wait an hour to catch this bugger it may not be acceptable as currently there's no way for us to fast forward your demo.

    happens while doing anything, completely at random, sometimes can play all night no crash, sometimes it crashes 3-4 times ><. i'll try to get a demo

    I resolved a lot of ns2 crashes by increasing a little the cpu voltage. i think a lot of us are playing the game with overclocked cpu due to low performance. Me too, and never had any problem with other games, but ns2 is pushing the cpu a lot. Try it.

    NS2 is a very good cpu stability test software :D

    Has happened to me a few times... just today I was late-game fading around veil and poof, screen locks up, no error message, had to force close process. We were going to win that game, too :(

    In my case game freezes for about 5-20 seconds, then screen black out and then jumps back to the game and game seems to reload all the objects on the map quickly and then game runs normally again for a while.. this crash makes the game totally unplayable because crashes are too frequent and usually happens right when about to rush to opponents base. I can try to record it if it helps?

    First crash is when I first die and then reborn and roam around for a minute or so, and second crash is when I die second time and I spectate gorge, but that crash doesn't seem to be on the video.. but it's right before I open console for the last time

    Did you investigate my case?
    I don't know how long my demo is, but at least the crash should happen in 5 minutes.
    If you need more info, I'll provide it within 24hrs because it's getting late and I've to go to work tomorrow (I live in Finland)

    My game also freezes from time to time without warning.

    This time I was playing on tram. Just spawned in warehouse and an exo was fighting with a skulk -> freeze. THis is the last part of the log:

    I can remember that it once froze and the last entry of that log was:
    Error: Collision model 'models/marine/advanced_armory/advanced_armory.model' created with zero coords
    But at this time I played on docking and attacked the terminal marine base. Hope that can help a bit.

    Oh.. I watched my demo afterwards and it still containet first crash. Yet video still contains my console after crashes occurred?
    Any suggestions for the next move on how to catch this crash?

    So wait, you are Not crashing but rather having your monitor momentarily go black and then return to the game?
    That sounds like a display driver crashing, or stopped responding, not ns2 crashing..
