Starting a single player server

I've been playing this game for some days now and i enjoy it a lot i think it's fun on bought sides , but there is allways a but i would like too understand what i'm doing as commander but every time i take the seat i'm getting yelled out becouse i don't understand much and there is no good tutorials in my opinion , so if we could start like a practice server ( that every one can create ) too see what who and how as a commander.

    Already exists. On the main menu, go to tutorials, Explore Mode, and voila!

    Also, I don't know what servers you've been playing on, but usually the NS community is very helpful, especially to new coms. My steam name is ChaosxBeing and while I certainly don't claim to be an amazing Comm, I'd be happy to show you the ropes.

    I don't know about you, but in Explore Mode, I still can't enter the Comm Chair.

    Well, if you can't get in the hive, try going into console (tild key) and entering "cheats 1" (without the quotes). If it still doesn't work, my only suggestion for you is to go into your Natural Selection 2 folder, delete Explore, then go into steam and verify your files. It should redownload Explore mode. If it doesn't work even after that, you have a problem somewhere else.

    explore mode is nearly pointless for commander, everything is already built. You can learn hotkeys and stuff but as far as build progressions goes its pretty bad. Even more so if you consider resource efficiency and micromanagement (bone walls, enzymes, med packs, nano)

    If anything just make a private server with a password and use the cheats to test it out. Next phase would be joining a rookie server and snag commander when its up. Dont be discouraged from learning but at the same time listen to feedback. Even good commanders have a hard time relating to what its like on the ground.
