I Love playing ns2, but i play on 800 X 600 rezolution all my stuff is on low and my fps at best is 20-25 i usualy play games at 1920 X 1080 but i tried that and my fps was 0-1 and on low rezolution the scoreboard is to big and i cant seee my ping or how much rez people have and sometimes part of there long name. Is there anyway for me to get at least 30 fps on a higher rezolution, Maby on Medium Graphics also?

Your pc specs are a bit old, I'm running an Athlon as well so my framerate dips a little. You forgot to include your graphics card, which could play a big role in your overall framerate.

Same problem here, have to play with EVERYTHING off (or low if I can't turn it off), resolution at 640x480 and best fps I'm reaching is highs off 20-25 and lows of 1-15, makes the game pretty much unplayable as everything's, well...just awful and slow. I'm not expecting to able to play on all high settings, but come on now, this is just silly.

AMD A8-3500 APU with Radeon HD Graphics, 1500 Mhz, 4 Cores, 4 Logical Processors
AMD Radeon HD 6620G, 6GB RAM DDR 3
    Windows 7 64-bit

This makes me really really sad as the game is totally f*****g amazing and a completely new experience in multiplayer gaming that I personally think is a huge step in the right direction of next-gen games. I just suck due to low fps thus sucking all the enjoyment out of it. I don't care if I'm forced to play this with horrible graphics, as long as i get a decent fps above at-least 50

For once, it is not the games fault. You have APU...

That is a really weak system. Will never be playable.

Really? I can handle most games modern games (CS:GO,Crysis,Arma2,TF2) at medium even high settings, with shadows and lighting kept to a medium/low depending on the game, so surely with everything at low it shouldn't be this bad.

I mean i've seen a lot of people complaining about low FPS, maybe it will be playable in the future.

Sorry to hi-jack your thread OP. :P

EDIT: Defending my baby here is it really a "really weak system"? This is the most powerful rig i've had yet on my income, I know it's not exactly Alienware standard and it is certainly out of date, but all things considered, is it so bad this game isn't even playable?

    This makes me :'(

CS:GO, I believe, Crysis, perhaps, TF2 as well, but running ArmAII on that must be a slide-show. Really, you have an APU, which means no dedicated graphics card, and a AMD CPU, clocked @ 1.5GHZ...

I highly doubt you can run Crysis or ArMAII at an enjoyable rate.

    Look at this:

    <a href="http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+A8-3500M+APU" target="_blank">http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+A8-3500M+APU</a>

Look at the system in my specs and my CPU is 4x more powerful than yours...at stock, OC it and that becomes over 6x more powerful....then let us get to the fact I have GTX670 SLI...versus yours...

    6620G

    <a href="http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Radeon%20HD%206620G" target="_blank">http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?...on%20HD%206620G</a>

My GPU, just one of them, is 10x more powerful...add to this, I have two...so 20x more powerful GPU and 6x more powerful CPU and I struggle with the game.

Oh don't me wrong it's not as beautiful as it can be, like i said i have to sacrifice res (small monitor anyway so it's fine) and lighting, bloom, shadows, v-sync, AA, not completely most of the time (except Crysis 2 but fair play there)).

But yeah, every game except this has smooth fps and nicely playable, I don't really care about graphics in general, so like I said it's not a huge problem if everything's not all shiney and polished it's just a real shame that my cpu matches minimum, even (sort of) recommended specs yet can barely run it at all. All in all it feels like £20 wasted right now which is a damn shame for such a brilliant game.

Keep in mind the developers are continuing to work on optimization - they plan to release an update about once a week, for the first little while at least.

That's exactly what I thought and hope, I guess i'll just have to wait for the updates.

    Back to you OP!! ;)

Your CPU does not reach any kind of minimum. What are you talking about?

His CPU gets slightly higher results on cpubenchmark.net compared to the minimum requirement (2.6GHz Core 2 Duos.)

What he said. Besides i'm feeling like this is a "bash the poor persons pc" thread now, when i'm not even OP.

That being said, the benchmark likely takes full advantage of all cores, whereas (from what I understand) NS2 relies very heavily on just two, with the rest going to lesser 'worker tasks.' This means that NS2 would likely run better on the min-spec Core 2 Duos than your low-GHz APU.
