Even split with maybe one builder, 2-3xRT, armory, obs, more RTs if freely available, phase tech as soon as can be had without interfering with RTs. Save for 2 PGs, put more pressure on aliens, kill alien RTs and cap more. Mines as soon as PGs are up, so taking PGs down is harder. Then possibly Advanced Armory or Arms Lab and weapon upgs 1 & 2. Then armor 1.

I do armory, obs, closest 3 rt's, then arms lab and shotguns. Depending on whether or not my team is dying it's a toss up between armor or weapons first.

Takes 3 bites minimum to kill a marine, it's only 2 if they've been parasited first.
It's a matter of preference I prefer weapons to armor when I'm actually fighting.
And you have 0 credibility after saying shotguns are not useful against skulks.
Skulks kill a marine at A0 in 3 perfect bites anyway. It only takes 10 damage MORE to kill them with A0 (parasite does 10, btw), so I tend to like A1, then up to W3, then A2 A3, but that's me.
If your marines can't, at 0/0, hold 3-4 res nodes early in the game, you're going to lose anyway. Giving them A1 won't fix the problem, but you'll get a lot more res over time spending that 40-ish res on a couple extra res nodes.

I usualy go for Armory, obs, then two squads will have reached res nodes; so 2 resnodes. Then mines and phasetech. If the teams are large I usualy drop and extra IP after the armory, so my team spawn faster and its safer against skulktrains.
There are more than one opening tactic and its good this way, otherwise the game would get boring. At least at pubs, it doesn't matter so much. As long as you build RTs and don't waste your resources.
Thinking you know the only valid tactic and insulting other over theirs, just let you look like an idiot.
