NS1 gorge was more fun. Alien commander is more balanced and makes more sense. Maybe the devs can find the right balance make gorges build more types of structures.

I'm not counting people who beat around the bush. If you prefer the alien commander explicitly over the Gorge, then I count that. If you prefer Gorge explicitly, then I count that. I'm not going to count posts like "I like the Alien Commander, but it's not optimal, and I think Gorges need to work together with them more." because how is that in favor or either or? This isn't about potential changes or anything. It's about if you had to choose one or the other, even if you like both or dislike both, which would it be?
I last updated at 2:04 AM PST. The score was 10:8 at that time. Here are the following posts before or at that time:
Mhh... It's your thread. Do what you want. But this is heavy biased. Even your example does obvious say: "I like the Alien Commander..." Just because he isn't perfect yet, doesn't mean that we don't like the game-mechanic of it.
You are comparing a NS1 gorge that is not existent in NS2, (The people can't see the problems he would create. And they don't remember the problems he had. Because humans glorifying everything in the past.) with the existing Kham and all his problems that are obvious.
If you don't count the people that like the new mechanic but don't think it is perfect, than you are making up your own result.
€dit: Oh and why do you give me this "Reading how does it work" again? It seems you had understood that we disagree on a particular opinion, not that I haven't red your post.
It's not biased. Do you prefer having an Alien Commander or having Gorges build stuff? I don't care if you don't think the Alien Commander is balanced, fun, or whatever right now. Regardless of whether or not it's balanced, do you prefer the concept? The Lochness Monster could or could not be real, but do you believe it is? There's only one of two possible answers: YES or NO. "I don't know" or "There could be" is not a valid answer.

That's a Gorge. No matter what UI it goes through to place buildings, it's the exact concept; a distributed effort to do the Commander's job only available to a select alien unit. You're merely arguing semantics at this point as to what to call it or what it looks like or anything else.

The question at hand is "Do you prefer a solo person commanding the team directing its upgrades and building construction or do you prefer the effort distributed to select Alien units as it was in the original; in this case which are Gorges." Yet, that's exactly what it is. The only difference being aesthetics like the interface by which it places structures. But, the concept is exactly the same; distributing the effort of a single commander onto a special class of Aliens.
Maybe you two should get some reading comprehension skills and an ability to look deeper into what people say before accusing me of a "heavy bias" (Laughable accusation too, considering there's only one post in favor of Gorges that you see as being vague and the potential fact that Alien Commander will be winning once I update the results.)

starcraft 2 is different to broodwar, but it's inferior in almost every way imaginable besides tech stuff (graphics and connectivity). even battlenet was superior for broodwar, for a start it didn't lock my account and ask me to reset my blasted password every 5 minutes because my isp decided to give me a new ip.
ns2 is not awful compared to ns1... it's just different. it has some new ideas which are good - like alien commander and power nodes etc (although they could perhaps use some tweaking). obviously not everyone feels the same way about some of the changes, but it's a great game which takes on the 'trademark' NS1 gameplay successfully.
a very important point is that broodwar was immensely popular, so why the hell did blizzard change/ruin it?
NS1 community size was okay for such an old game/mod, but it was nothing compared to broodwar or counterstrike. it makes sense that you would want to make a sequel more easy on the eye and lower the 'entry level' skill barrier. an indie game like NS2 will succeed through the attention it gets - and if it was NS1 with boosted graphics then chances are it would not get anywhere close to the attention it deserves.

Starcraft 2, not C&C 4. NS1 with better graphics and some great additions is what the community wanted originally, and what we thought was coming.
So far NS2, while good, is not quite matching that vision.
So that said, if they made the commander a better solution, I'd be all for it.
But as it stands now....Gorge Bush all the way.
A sequel should build on its original, not re-invent the wheel.

What if the wheel has a puncture and is liable to a blow out? Maybe it needs a little reinventing then.

starcraft 2 is different to broodwar, but it's inferior in almost every way imaginable besides tech stuff (graphics and connectivity). even battlenet was superior for broodwar, for a start it didn't lock my account and ask me to reset my blasted password every 5 minutes because my isp decided to give me a new ip.
ns2 is not awful compared to ns1... it's just different. it has some new ideas which are good - like alien commander and power nodes etc (although they could perhaps use some tweaking). obviously not everyone feels the same way about some of the changes, but it's a great game which takes on the 'trademark' NS1 gameplay successfully.
a very important point is that broodwar was immensely popular, so why the hell did blizzard change/ruin it?
NS1 community size was okay for such an old game/mod, but it was nothing compared to broodwar or counterstrike. it makes sense that you would want to make a sequel more easy on the eye and lower the 'entry level' skill barrier. an indie game like NS2 will succeed through the attention it gets - and if it was NS1 with boosted graphics then chances are it would not get anywhere close to the attention it deserves.
