Yep, Planetside all the way. Did you read that <a href='http://gamespot.com/gamespot/stories/previews/0,10869,2901288,00.html' target='_blank'>GameSpot preview</a>? Very juicy! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Also, there was an article in the January PCGamer. That game looks like the shizz.
I'm a huge Blizzard fan as well (not as much as though BKB goons though - that's just pathetic. <!--emo&--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo--> ).
I stay away from all MMORPGs though. I know I would be addicted easily to them, and I'm not going to give up my rare free time for any of them.
I'll probably be doing PlanetSide, WoW, and Sw:G. Though admittedly not at the same time. DEFINATELY getting Galaxies though...
I never played a mmorpg before I got DAoC, and damn if it wasn't the coolest 4 or 5 months ever :O I was absolutely hooked to that game, but I always enjoyed it too. I ran around w/ a guy I knew from the AHL community and got to meet lots of other peeps
I've been a big time Blizzard fan since I discovered Warcraft (although my faith in the company has been fading since Diablo II <!--emo&--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo--> ). Nonetheless, I will NEVER do <b>pay to play</b>. If it has LAN play or something, I'll buy it. Otherwise, I refuse to worry about monthly fees.

I'm playing SWG. WoW seems too PvP/slice'n'dice for me.
I keep laughing at people who keep griping about the monthly fee. Do you really think they can host the 10 or so servers holding hundreds of thousands of people all at one time for free? That is a costly operation. And, while I don't know about other MMORPGs, when I was playing DAoC they were adding new content all the time. New content doesn't make itself, you gotta pay somebody to make it.
As far as the upfront cost of the game, that's another issue. Personally I think the game itself should be free, so if you only wanted 2 months then you wouldn't lose too much. But nevertheless, the games usually come with x amount of free months (usually equalling its price, so if the game was $30 it'd have 3 free months). That makes the blow a little less.

Never beat it though - I did the storyline a little, then just went around and did whatever I wanted. More open-ended than Deus Ex or even GTA3, which is amazing.

It all boils down to if the game is fun or not.
