Stops when Downloading mods?

Ive been using mods practically since the games been out, but now I cant even play the game cause any time I try joining a game whether its explore or not, it just gets to a point at the load screen where it says downloading mods, and Ive waited like 5-10 minutes without it going anywhere and it black screens when i alt tab out. Ive been trying to make some texture mods and not sure if this might be the problem although i did one before and nothing bad happened so I don't know why this time it broke it. any suggestions?
