Lonely env. artist seeking level designer
This my first post so hello to everyone! I've recently just come off a project where I was doing both the level design and environment art. It ended up taking over a year, and i wasted too much time learning level design through basically trial and error. That level is around 90% done, missing a few textures, ambient sounds and the odd model. but I've put it on hold till they release the public beta and I get some feedback before I finalize anything.
Now for my next project I want to learn from my mistakes and find a experienced level designer who's equally motivated to expand the content for this great game and make something that's going to be both fun and good looking. Weather you've got something in the works or have (like me) been stewing on how to approach a project please give me a heads up via these forums or on steam: http://steamcommunity.com/id/howser.
I haven't got a website up yet so here's some shots of random pieces I've made, not much of a portfolio but try use your imagination :P
Thanks

But head over Sanity total conversion, they can take use of you for sure. Here is their forum topic http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/in...howtopic=118486
Welcome to NS2 forums :)
Second thing, welcome to the mapping board.
At the moment, I have a map in work, which will include a lot of custom props and textures. But I am by no means an experienced level designer, lol.
So, if you find someone, maybe he is also willing to take my hand and lead me a bit through that little, nasty, buggy thing called Spark-Editor.
At the moment I am getting a bit nuts because of the errors I have to fight with, which aren't deadly holes, but make the road far more bumpy than I would wish...
But if you have some questions, the members are very polite and helpfull, so just ask!
so long
As it stands, I have a structure in the center of my map which is made up entirely of individual props and it lags the room like crazy. I am doing what I can, but really I am in need of some custom tailored art assets.
I don't really have any good shots of it in its current state, but here are some shots to give you an idea. PS: It is big. So big that it can be considered a room on its own. The last screenshot is what I am intending to make the containment room look like.

You can find my map on steamworks right now. Just look for NS2_Goliath and it should be a result with a spaceship in a room.

Blasphemy: your map looks really nice, too nice in fact! I'd be reluctant to touch something that already has such a strong visual identity i was hoping for gray boxed monster. If my previous experience has taught me anything, is a that a blank canvas is a lot easier to work with! especially so compared to one with a pretty picture already painted on it. Btw added you on steam :P accept!
Rudy.cz: vanilla NS2 is the only way for me really. I love ns2 and have set my heart on making the kind of map for it I'd like to play. Sanity does sound good ,i must say.
Well I guess my next step is to just hang out on the forums, and get to know spark, and start doing some bloody work!
