Very bad performance

The game runs very slow on my computer. I have a GTX460, Phenom2 X6 (2.8Ghz) 12gb ram 1600 and a SDD, and the game runs about 10-15fps in medium quality, no AA, no bloom, no ambient occlusion (1920x1080)

what should I do?

My rig is a little beefier than yours, and I have everything turned off and resolution set at 1024x768. And I'm still thinking about going lower :(<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->

Reducing graphic settings only takes you so far. Ultimately it comes down to UW's horribly performing engine, which is eating the CPU. No amount of setting changes will change that.

I disagree with the previous two posters..
Your rig should be getting way higher fps than that.

Have you tried setting ns2.exe to "high priority" for your cpu?
What are your Nvidia control panel settings?
I'd like to see what your log.txt or console (~ key) says as soon as you load up NS2.. it will tell you the render device.

I wasnt referring to your specs, i dont even know your specs? I was referring to the OP. Systems range greatly and anecdotal experiences are not universal. I have specs from 2009 and i get 60-80 with all high except AO @ 1920, but with all low i get minimum 100 fps. See how little that has in common with your experience? :)

Thats not true, actually, some older AMD processors have been benefiting from this, as found on these forums. (one is in my clan and attests to it)

Now please, lets not derail this thread any further, i'm here to assist the OP as best i can, not have discussions with others about whats best. Feel free to chime in, but theres no need for discussion and no reason what so ever for stopping the OP from trying my suggestions.
    Thanks

Anyway dont try to defend this shi* engine, while u can have +500 fps on a source mod or even in other games wich requires a good pc, in this game with a quite decent computer u cant play a game for more than 40minuts because infestation and buildings will fuc*ing destroy your pc lol and u wont be able to play with more than 20fps.

They keep "fixing" things but they dont give a sh*t about the engine, they have 229 beta versions, and the game still like unfinished, i cant understand how this engine goes that bad.

You shouldn't set video games to high priority. "Above Normal" gets the same FPS boost without potentially unwanted risks/results.

Sure, but that's no reason to not try it?? Finding the source of the problem is the goal.

@OP: Can you please provide the info requested above by me?
