How much you wanna bet that cause aliens are a little bit OP in this build 6/4 that UWE (bias to marines) takes a massive noise dive to about aliens 4/6 or even 3/7 next build?

Rumor has it you're going to release an exo suit with 4 miniguns and a grenade launcher that shoots grenades that explode into 10 more grenades. I'd also like an upgrade that lets me dual wield shotguns pls.

<a href="http://ns2stats.org/map/map/2" target="_blank">summit</a> vs <a href="http://ns2stats.org/map/map/6" target="_blank">refinery</a> the biggest imbalance in NS2 is still the maps.

I've played some rounds since the patch was released on a few servers (rookie friendly and not), and I've noticed a disturbing trend.
Most of the marine teams are utterly horrible. Horrible at aiming, horrible at understanding of the game, horrible at positioning, teamwork, checking corners, defending their RTs, expanding, commanding, etc. etc.
I have no idea why this is happening - maybe the experienced players got bored of marines and are stacking aliens every round? It seems extremely odd that they're doing it together though... or maybe commanding aliens is easier to learn? It don't remember it being easier for me when I started...
Regardless, I really hope Charlie doesn't knee-jerk himself into nerfing aliens into oblivion somehow on the next patch. I really think the game is fine, even with the "op" regeneration. Passive regen needs a nerf, and active regen maybe up to 2-2.5 seconds, but other than that it seems fine. I have noticed no more problems killing crags together, or regenning life forms, even fades and oni than before 229. Crags are definitely not OP even stacked.
The only thing which bothers me immensely about 229 is the 100% camo (aka Invisibility?). When that's chosen, you have no choice except to stick together in groups and have the com scan everywhere you go. That gets extremely expensive, and it severely limits marines' ability to snipe RTs or put non-concentrated map pressure. The short-range faint silhouettes of pre-229 are very much needed. Camo needs to be buffed differently somehow; not sure how but invisible skulks in people's feet is just not good IMO.
Yea when I play games where the marines can shoot, even like 2 of them, we generally win. But 1 person can't carry the team unless it's a small server.

Srsly "Know Pain", if you can balance a game better than the devs, make a thread with actually more as 1 line of text and write what you will change. We will see, what the other players think of that. UWE did create both teams. It's very immature to think they would prefer one team, just because balancing an asymmetric game isn't that easy.
It's not just about shooting. I've seen so many people in the last couple of days: - camping (in groups!) - not using phasegates - not defending RTs - camping or slowly pushing in one big blob, and noone pushing the other side of the map or elsewhere
...that it just melts my head.
I get so tired playing those games, because I'm usually pushing somewhere alone, or defending RTs alone, and it's really wearing me out. I'm not saying I'm the best player or anything, but the lack of skill on marine teams, even on non-rookie-friendly servers seems staggering.

Well that's easy to explain, if you have a bad comander but a good team, if you're alien you can esaily win the game because as an alien commander there isn't much you can do wrong, plus you don't even need to command your troups around, they can do whatever they think is best. While playing marine commander, you have to be able to direct you troups to the right places and coordinate them well, because you need them to build and protect. It doesn't matter if they aim well or not if they're playing in group the sum of their hits almost always keeps the aliens in check. At least early game on.
My experience is that as an alien it doesn't bug me to have no orders at all because basically my objective is to anoy the other camp by destroying powernodes and killing the lone walkers. As a marine on the other hand, if you have no orders you don't know where to head, what to buy or if you should save your res.
Just yesterday our team was doing great in combat, getting high KD and keeping the skulks at bay, but the commander wasn't expanding and that gave the khammander enough time expand all over the map and as soon as they had two onos we had one doublebarreled exo wich could do nothing against that (and I'm here not even complaining about the OP regeneration they have).
To sum it up, right now the khammander is really detached from his team and doesn't really interact with it, while the marine commander must comunicate and direct his team with strengh, if you only get silence from a marine commander the game is basically lost while as an alien you don't need to care about that...
I just played a game as marines on mineshaft where I literally res locked the aliens by myself. My team was fruitlessly pushing deposit forever, meanwhile I ran up cavern killed rt after rt, from cavern to central drilling to sorting. I checked my score halfway through and I had 150 points from almost all res towers. And after res towers stopped spawning, I just started killing upgrades. I imagine that comm felt how I did most of the time when i comm marines.

I could care less about win percentages tbh, I thought the game was so much more fun (the important part) when we were nearly 75% alien victories not so long ago. Even though you were likely gonna lose as marines it was still fun. Now, aliens feel bland and weak (with the exception of onos) and marines are just meh...

LOL. It must've been like my game yesterday where my entire team was pushing sorting over and over and over and over, while I ran to cavern repeatedly from repair (where the nearest phase gate was), killing skulk(s) on the way, and shooting the cave hive. I think one other person came to help a couple times, but when he died he got discouraged and kept pushing sorting with the blob.
After about 5+ minutes of this, I killed the hive by myself (meanwhile the blob was still camping outside of sorting without being able to push in)... That was funny by itself, but then they replaced the hive, and I killed the replacement too. At that point, I had to wonder what I was doing in that game, really, and think about the deeper things in life.
It was on a rookie-friendly server anyway, but I've had experiences similar to this on non-rookie-friendly servers with people with white names too.
