SERVER ISSUES

My server is having major issues
I dunno where to put this, because i cant find a server only thread etc. I don't rent a server i run it on a i5 quad core machine, with 4 gigs of ram, we have 2 servers under co-op gaming one nilla server and one modded server...

in the command console i keep getting

____________________________________________________________________
""Client sent a move to far in the past (XXXXXXXX ms behind)""

or

"" too many moves to handle in a frame (6 allowed, 6 run, discarding move.""
____________________________________________________________________

we are talking each of these sometimes ques in the server console 50+ times... everyone hits a random ping of over 9000 ping...

Here is my problem

2 completely separate boxes.

one hits, they both have high ping and everyone leaves.

Checked core usage - sometimes the core is maxed but not at the time of the ping latency at all. in fact it stays at about 90 -100 % with 20 - 24 people on it. this is normal and yet the ping issue started about 4 days ago, and still going on with this update. BUT even if it was with the core, why does it affect both computers, and both servers....

Next would be network, since this is my home, i have 20 - 4 cable internet, and i run a problem called networx that monitors network activity, i am normally remoted into these servers and watching on spare monitors ... there is no abnormal network traffic - no excessive traffic and no loss of traffic either... I am LAN connected to my server when i play - you will understand how if you host a server. your server shows up two times, one with (LAN) and another without it. and even i hit the high ping.

please help im losing people left and right and my servers are normally full every single night, especially our combat modded server. we have the only servers that are full besides one in France and when this happens i dunno what to do!

Servers are running windows 7 pro on a optiplex 990 from dell, core i5 and 4 gigs of ddr3.

Well just for the sake of your internet speed heres a quick little run down every player uses about 9kb of internet a 24 person server full will probably use 216kb which is about 1.68Mbits for the sake of rounding you can assume 2Mbits if two of your servers are full, you'd be maxing out your internet connection. So if both your servers are full anything you do online that is going to cause packet problems.

Also i'd go to speedtest.net to check to see if your actually getting the upload speed you pay for.

This is what its giving mesorry for doubble post had to wait for it to happen. this is going on constantly now, with noone on the other server. and 20 people on the modded server. (they both do it so modded vs nilla dosent matter. )

this just happened - the to many moves to process in a fram (6 allowed , 6 run) discarding move

and we saw the lag, it hit that maybe a good 200 times streamed to the end of the CMD prompt to where its all i can see in the log.

I'm still leaning on network issues, Try turning one server off and letting the other fill up. Residential internet is no where near as stable as what you'd get at a datacenter it could be just your internet having intermittent issues monitoring done from your computers wont tell you anything what you need to know is whats going on at your router and modem. Do you have wifi someone could be sniping your internet? Have more people in the house someone could be torrenting, youtubing, having a fap, downloading a car. Your running your severs on the edge of your internets capability it wont take much to make it all start screwing up.

I'm not an expert on the server console stuff but my guess would be your server is choking not enough power under the hood.

    EDIT
Actually reading those errors it sounds like it is because of your internet failing, what it seems to be implying is its sending messages from the past, if your internet is lagging the servers going to get movements behind.

Doooouble post, after reading the server forums abit it sounds like some sort of debugging might of gotten turned on so odds are this could of been there the whole time. heres the dedicated server forum btw http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/in...p?showforum=118

Im a network specialist and work in the IT as a job, the power should be fine, CPU stays under 30 % during running and no single cores run to the max since today's or yesterdays update. - As for wifi and other users, i have QoS on the servers ports, and noone is on my network besides me. and my servers, i dont torrent and netflix is only on my BR player which is on my network, but not even on, has not been on for a few days. I might call my ISP to bump it to 100mbs for a month to see if it sorts out the problem as i have a few people on the inside. If it works problem solved. i was leaning to Network as is, i know under the hood power is plenty - and everything has cat 6, gig network from modem through house. Appreciate your reply.

keep in mind i get 4 mbs actually around 4.5 and 20 download. so if your calculating i should still be fine.
