100% Client Side!
Hey everyone.
A few people have already made first person spectator mods, but this one is purely client-side and replaces the third person view.
This means that you can install this mod and join any public server to spectate people in first person and casters won't have to annoy the players and server admins with installing mods!
It is currently in prototype/alpha stage after a half a day/night of work and generally functional.
Code, download and installation instructions can be found on the Git repository, as well as a bug tracker:

EDIT: THIS MOD IS BROKEN SINCE BUILD 219. I DID NOT MANAGE TO FIX IT AND STOPPED ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT.
The most obvious bugs currently are that there are no view models yet (will be a bit of work to get them in, especially the fire/reload animations) and that the rifle and builder tool have a strange silent sound bug I need to track down and fix (only these two weapons are silent, others work). It also lags a bit behind depending on ping, but I think it is still very useful.
Be aware that this mod also replaces the third person view on the dead team spectators and may look even more buggy there.
I hope that this will make casting matches more entertaining and help some players by giving them the opportunity to watch (more or less) exactly how better players play this game.
WARNING: Do not start a listen server with this mod on. I didn't yet get to find out why, but it totally breaks everything. Start a dedicated server via server.exe instead, without the "-game" command line parameter.
This is how the UI currently looks:

May the Queen of Pain be with you.
"Status: Rifle" is pretty hilarious though.
Edit: I have no idea what the problem is and am unable to fix it after days of trying. This mod is now essentially defunct and will be totally useless once the consistency checks are in, hence I will not continue development.
