<b>Edit: Issue resolved. To anyone else with a laptop carrying Intel processors and Nvidia graphic cards, I recommend checking <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/index.php?showtopic=117259" target="_blank">the fix suggested in this post.</a></b>

Can anyone help me get NS2 running on my computer? Setting the resolution to 800x640 and all the options onto minimum, I still get ~20 fps while I'm on the screen alone, and closer to ~5 FPS while in small fights. My one attempt to play in a larger battle may as well have been an attempt to play Natural Selection: Slide Show.

My computer isn't completely top-of-the-line, but it's not exactly weak. It runs LoL, Metro 2033, TF2, and Skyrim on high (though not Ultra) settings without any trouble. The fact that I can't run NS2 on bare minimum graphics seems incredibly odd. Is the game really so poorly optimized?

If anyone has any advice, I'd love to hear it! I played plenty of NS1 back in the day and preordered NS2 to help support UW, it would be a shame not to be able to play the game :(

My specs:
CPU - Intel i7-3610QM
Graphics - NVIDIA Geforce GT 650M with 2Gb DDR5
Ram - 6GB DDR 3.

Thanks for your help!

    look in <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/index.php?showforum=108" target="_blank">http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/in...p?showforum=108</a>

many suggestions there. your machine looks to be around the 'recommended' in terms of cpu/gpu performance so you should be able to do better.

Make sure to turn off your anti-virus or any other programs that take up a lot of resources before playing.

Issue resolved! Thanks again extollo. Performance isn't ideal but Unknown Worlds are still a small studio, so it's understandable. I can still run everything at playable levels on roughly medium settings, which actually look quite good.
