Alien life form 'mature' status

After an alien has been alive as a certain life form for a certain amount of time, they could be granted a 'mature' status. This would be like with the various alien buildings in the game, where the life form would be a bit harder to kill and have some neat new abilities.
This would reward players for sticking with a certain role for a while, and I think that would be a cool element in team play.
For example,
A mature gorge might heal more, or he might gain the ability to shot web or spawn babblers.
A mature skulk might deal a bit more combat damage, and his parasites might last longer
A mature lerk would be, I dunno strong enough to carry other small life forms around?
that kind of thing.
I like the idea of encouraging players to stick to a single role because it would make the team experience seem more consistent, with like Captain_markypants always being the team's mature lerk, or Darth5Nopolis being the team's mature gorge.
This would be opposed to every team member switching roles in a sort of chaotic unplanned way and might encourage people to talk about what lifeforms they should pick so that all the roles are filled.
There is one thing that would get in the way with this idea, and that's the fact that by necessity pretty much everyone dies at some point in the game. In that case probably mature status would be granted depending on cumulative time spent that round as that life form.
So it might end up being a metagame mechanic unless we can think of a way to implement it in the lore.
You could also have something similar for marines, for balance, with players sticking to one weapon being granted specialties with that weapon like faster reload times, being able to cram an extra shell into that shotgun, or doing additional damage with explosives. Veteran exosuit pilots could have faster walking speeds or better heat management or maybe they could have the ability to switch out their guns at any prototype lab (dual fist exos, yeah!)

I can already see Lerks picking up screaming skulks and dropping them into the lava in refinery, or crevice in tram ^^
You and I think a lot alike >:D
Maybe make the Lerk a non-controllable vehicle instead, heck that sounds weird...
Ahh yes, I remember some servers had lerk lift back in NS1.
It was so fun to pick up gorges and then drop them to their death in the jetpack room on siege maps. You were able to pick up onos as well with primal scream and then drop them to their deaths. :)
