Are performance patches coming anytime soon?

My system is good enough to run bf3, crysis2, skyrim or any other modern game smoothly, and with a high FPS, and those mentioned have arguably way more demanding engines than ns2. Despite this ns2 at most times looks to have a low tick rate and FPS drops as well as hit registration issues, feels like every other bullet goes right through a skulk when they should hit.
Ns2 is a great game, and it is a shame to see it lacking some of the fundamentals which would make it a long term enjoyable experience.
I realize this is thread number 1000 regarding performance, but where is the patch?

I also want to know. The "we are constantly working on performance" isn't exactly heart warming after watching a 30 minute Developer Q&A.
Some proper news such as the previous change of netcode / VM on 2nd core for improvements would be appreciated.
Moreover, is it good enough to run NS2?
Why would you need his specs to answer his question?

To add something useful: there wont be a patch that radically increases performance. The game performance is intrinsic to the architecture of the engine, choices like dynamic lighting and lua scripting. UWE have said they will continue working on the game and release small incremental improvements, but there is not going to be a large scale performance increase.
Hopefully they will keep fixing hitreg issues (they have already fixed many, such as the harvester issue released today) but there are many small issues adding up to a bad hitreg experience, and it will take a long time to fix them all.
