First post, Some ideas

First off, I really like this game. There is a lot of originality in this game and its exciting to play.
But especially on the alien team, there is a lack of something. I also dislike how every unit on the alien team is so fast, there is nothing slow to shoot at. Except onos. So my first idea involves creating a new form of slower alien that still has value.

My first idea is a new support unit for the aliens. It would a spider. It would be able to climb walls and shoot webs (like the gorge attack, hard to hit). These would slow hit marines to a crawl. But the best part would be its move to plant eggs in dead marines. The eggs would hatch one at a time, and hatch another AI controlled spider that would crawl towards marines. These spiders wouldn't be fast, they would be used as pushing power, making marines waste shots on them, and give them something fun to shoot at. :)
So spider has web shot, and pushing power(cannon fodder)... other ideas?
The problem is I don't know how long the bodies lay on the ground, so that could be an issue.

My second idea for marines is to able to pick before you spawn if you want light, medium, or heavy armor.
Lightly armored marines spawn with only health, but are much faster and are useful for chasing down hurt alien units or capturing points.
Medium armored is the default, with the 30 armor, default speed.
Heavy armored would be even slower, useful for defense, maybe 20-30 extra armor.
I really think the light armored marine could change the game quite a bit for the marine team.

Third idea plays together with my 4th. I want some sort of ranged alien unit, it doesn't even have to be strong, something in between gorge and lurker.(I think lurker is the flying guy). Something for the marines to have some longer range engagements with, instead of always fighting enemies crawling at their feet. While its fun to shoot aliens running around, its not always that fun to always be swinging your gun around crazily.

Fourth would be a riot shield unit for the marines. This would help stop against the cheaper ranged alien. This riot shield guy could also have the ability to stun alien units with bash. (exception onos). This would help for taking care of fast skulks and defending against the new ranged alien unit. The riot shield unit could also have a tazer in his free hand(Maybe this shocks and stuns?)

My last idea includes more AI controlled things for pushing. Im just pulling this off my head right now. The humans might be able to build little tanks that are AI controlled and helpful for pushing.

    Ya, The other guy has a cool idea for his spider where it uses some sort of web to get around, by shooting it to walls. But I don't like his idea of spawning small spiders. The main idea behind mine is something for pushing, and something bigger and slower for the marines to shoot.

    Also, for the rooting, I imagine it would be more like slowing their move speed to 20 - 50%. Not rooting them to the spot.
