Aliens View Models

<div class="IPBDescription">Anyone making them?</div> Is anyone making the teeth or anything for the Aliens models?

I got that gorge one, its really cool, but its annoying having a view models that doesnt match.

If no one else is doing them ill try myself, but itll probably just be a re-colour <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I have tried and it is a daunting task. Mainly because you have to reassign the vertexes and even when you do it still comes out completely disfigured.

    CTX, I've had that disfiguration problem before with player models [a LOT]. All I do to fix it is start over. That's a pain in the **obscenity**, I know, but at least it ends up working eventually. I don't know what the error is. Can't tell you how to fix it beyond retrying.

    if u assign the polys to the wrong bone the animations will come out all **obscenity** up.

    The animations work but the model itself is torn up and twisted all to hell.

    just use something like hlmv to reskin it....rather than decompiling the model..

    you can use hlmv to reskin? ive loaded different skins on it but i didnt know it was permanent. so how so i save it?

    CTX: Make sure you move the vertices and not the faces, also make sure you are using the right animations. Also make sure the faces are on the skeleton.

    sp@zmong when u put the skin on it to export you goto texture tab then save model and its easy as that.

    as for milkshape make sure that u use kratisto's HL MDL decompiler under the tools tab, not the tools>half-life>decompile normal HL MDL file

    yeah i used karistos, but it didnt work either. maybe my model is screwed?

    Okey, Ive release the alien gorge views <a href='http://mong.netfirms.com/aliengorgeview.zip' target='_blank'>here</a>.

    Theyre just reskins so dont get excited (pretty much just recolurs actually).

    The black, blue and green models all have the same colour tongue so there is only 2 view models (one for them, one for red).
