It is pretty standard for rts games to have the ability for you to set a location, unit or buildings to ctrl 1-0 and it annoys me as especially as alien when I want to find that one shift or whatever else in the mess of the map.

That's not what we are talking about actually, we are discussing about the ability to hotkey units/buildings

Actually if you read the title of the topic, you'd notice the first word is <i>location</i>, which the OP also stated in his post. So I would argue that binding a location is exactly what he is talking about, or are you able to bind a location to a number? Regardless of that, it is pretty standard to be able to double press the hotkey for an unit to jump to that unit, which would be useful for this game as well.
