Argh I keep seeing these posts from the development team asking me to comment about something... but I never see the story! I always have a tab open to these forums, but not to the main site. It did confuse me for some time when I couldn't find any of the changelogs while reading the forums...!
Guess I have to open another tab for the main site and have 2 tabs dedicated to NS :P

So 'netrunner' is a card game? I never did have the patience for those :(

Your house, your rules, but...

Not a fan of the use of the ns2 website for this kind of update. I come here solely for NS2 dev and patch updates.
Actually disappointed cause I thought it was a NS2 update. I understand your desire to "blog it up", but I feel like this is not the proper outlet.

Just thought I'd share my opinion (in case it could change your mind on where you post these types of developer blog things).

#8 on board game geeks?

That, my friends, is nothing short of amazing and yet I have somehow never heard of this game

The cult following must be very strong indeed

I was expecting to read something about them adding Siege maps, like there was for the original NS... but at the end of it, I just went WTF like most others.

NS2 should be the only thing you love ever. How dare you show appreciation for another game you may enjoy IRL!

It uses Netrunner as an example.

Vulnerability is definitely related to NS2. Power nodes, cysts, etc...

I understand, but that just feels like clutching at straws to me. I personally would prefer that the front page be left for actual ns2 news, I think I speak for most other people as well.

Directly related news (patch notes, upcoming maps, etc) only happen every so often. Personally I'm a fan of tangentially related things (like discussing a card game that might have influenced some of the thinking that went into NS2). Maybe that's because I'm capable of starting to read something and deciding whether it interests me enough to finish it, rather than deciding to read everything and then rage about having been forced to read it, but that's my preference.

I thought the first two sentences ("A new year resolution here at UWE is to blog more often, and about more varied topics. Often, these posts will not have direct relevance to NS2") would let people plan accordingly, but that might be too much to ask.

I saw a Rache Bartmoss quote on one of those cards, which tipped me to Netrunner being a CP2020 spinoff/related product. Brings back memories :)

That is what most people on the forums think, and they are usually wrong.

As a member of the group commonly referred to as "Most People" I agree with this.

As I was typing that I realized I was kind of balancing on a knife edge. I misspoke. What I should have said was:
I would personally prefer it if the front page was left just for ns2 news, because i love ns2 and ns2 news. when I see a news update
I get all happy inside. could it be upcoming features? could it be a new patch? however, my expectations were met with disappointment when I got to the end of the update to to find nothing of relevance (in my own opinion) of ns2.

while it is entirely up to you what you do with your own product, I have to insist;

if this happens again, I will kill this bunny that i am currently holding.
I do not know who's bunny this is, but lets just say it was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
