Questions about ranges and sizes
Hi, i'm a avid gaming person but sometimes I like a game so much that I was to express my creativity in it. So in the past days I looked up how to get started as a mapper. I was a map designer in WC3, decided to take a crack at it on NS2. After brainstorming for a map idea, my questions are:
1. Whats the biggest a map can get in NS2?
2. Inches are used in the editor only while meters are used in-game? Is this correct?
3. If my map would include a custom game mode, and it would exclude the commander then designing with Level over level is fine?
Thanks to those who will give me a response in advance.

max in game render distance is 45 meters or 1771 units in the editor i think. so your map can be as big as you want if you use occlusion geometry effectively.

yes. level over level is only a problem if you have to drop structures or medpacks from a commander view. it also affects how easily a player can navigate using a minimap. if those aren't concerns, then level over level is fine.
Geometry draw distance is quite a lot bigger, test it in the editor.
