<div class="IPBDescription">Help please</div>I purchased this game recently and had rendering issues from the beginning. I have the latest version of my graphics driver and have tried the cache fixes suggested in the sticky and numerous other threads. I've also tried a number of setting combinations and set my aa to application controlled.

Here is what my main menu looks like:

Here is what my console says on main menu:

Here is what my ingame ready room looks like:

System specs:

2gig ram
Intel CoreDuo 2.13 GHz CPU
Nvidia GeForce 7900 GTO (512mb)
Display 1280x1024
Windows XP 32bit

I would really appreciate some help, as I am pretty disappointed having just bought this game :(

Thanks

Try deleting your cache, located here: C:\Users\EUserName\AppData\Roaming\Natural Selection 2\cache.
However your specs are quite low, I'm not sure you'll be able to play the game correctly.

Like I said in the post, I've already tried this. Are my specs too low to run this even on the lowest settings?...

A 1GB videocard is one of the minimum requirements.

Could you try reinstalling directx from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\natural selection 2\redist\DirectX\DXSETUP.exe ?

Your hardware does not meet the minimum requirements :-/

Yeah your way below the minimum spec of NS2 to run. However, you can try turning on Texture Streaming which might help in the graphics options menu. If updatin gyour GeForce Drivers does nothing then I'm afraid you'll just need to upgrade.

I did this for a second time to no effect...

Even if my computer is under spec it should be able to at least render the game with extremely low fps... it doesn't make sense that it refuses to render altogether.

In my Users folder, I don't have this path, just an Administrator and Public folder. Where would my cache be? I've already tried the other suggestions in this post. (build 237 for me also)

I'm running this through Parallels 8 on a mac (Win 7). My Mac specs are below:
    OS X 10.8.2
    2 x 2.93 GHz 6-core Intel Xeon
14 Gigs 1333 MHz ram (I realize virtual machines can only use a portion of this, could that be the problem?)
ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024 MB (enough memory?)
    display 2560x1600

I think that's all the pertinent information. Any suggestions?

IIRC Different shader models were used, that aren't supported by your hardware.
OR something to do with shader technology.
And tbh, no offense but that hardware is a bit old, most modern games ask for more than that,

    VS.

..which is older than xbox 360 tech. (9 years)
    :-/
    Sorry man

Man, GTX7900... I have memories of volt modding that with a "circuit writer" pen (or was it the 7950, if there was a 7950?) and OCing the crap out of it. I ended up selling it volt-modded to some guy in Greece over ebay like 6-7 years ago...
