Changing resolution doesn't improve framerate.

As the title says.
No matter what resolution I run the game at, my framerate is the same.
There is literally no difference between 1920x1080 and 1280x720

I hear game logic and entity processing is what bottlenecks the cpu, not graphical processing.

in any game, if putting the graphics settings higher does not drop your performance, its a cpu issue

1600x900 should give better performance than 1280x720.

Wolfdale E8400 Core2Duo@3.0ghz 6MB FSB @ 1066, 4GB of Mugen DDR 2 1066 5-5-5-15, GeForce GTX 280.
I get playable framerates(Averages around 30-40), but I'd like to push it higher.

So you've got a 6 year old CPU with only two cores in a game that's been optimized for more cores that are more efficient. And you've got a top-of-the-line GPU from about 4 years ago that can be beaten by today's midrange (GTX 650 will win against it in most cases). Don't feel bad, I've got a Core 2 Duo E6600 wiht a GTX 460, so I know exactly what boat you're in. You won't see anything above the 40's when in-game until you get better hardware, period.

Yeah, that's kinda what I figured.
I thought about OCing, but I'm having stability issues as is.
