People afk'ing and not getting kicked.

Ok so when a server has a maximum of 24 people and 4 people are afk. It usually messes up the game and prevents others from joining the server. Honestly why the hell haven't they developed an afk kicking system. The worst server is Mavick's pub. they have stupid blind admins who don't realize people are afk for 4 maps in a row.

    Isn't there supposed to be an auto-kick for afk'ers now? I thought there was one in a recent patch... else it's a server mod.

    As for clarification of the above post, the guy thinks you're trolling because generally people on the forums have low opinion on 24 player servers. Bit too dramatic if you ask me, afk'ers are an issue no matter what server. Even on 12v12 roflstomp servers.

    Oh ok.... I was like why the hell would I be trolling? haha but back to the topic.... I just find it annoying when it takes so long to join a server and when I finally do... there are like 4 people sitting in the ready room doing nothing. And no they don't have an auto-kick yet. Hopefully in the next patch they will.

    There is an auto-kick-on-AFK feature built in to the game already.

    However it's completely up to the server Admin to decide if they want it enabled, and to what idle time they start kicking those AFKs.

    If the server(s) you play on don't support it, find another that does. Or get your own. ;)

    Our 16-slot server, eXo~ Public Play, supports auto-kick functionality after 2mins of Idle time, once the server is at 50% capacity.

    Then you'd only need a a few more to go afk and you would have a proper game of NS2 and not a game of omgwtfclusterf#ckspamathon!

    But seriously the afk kick needs to be on by default, particularly on the official servers too.

    Know what ? Rather have to wait for a slot for a couple AFK than go thru desperatly empty servers.

    (and yes, 4 AFKs on a 24 slots is not enough lol)

    Shouldn't an afk kicker only kick when the server is full?

    As of build 236 (January), the afk system automatically kicks players idle for 5 minutes if the server is at least half full. The default idle time should be less IMO, but its not that bad.

    Not an issue, as the team can just vote eject them out of the hive/command station.
