Exo won't shoot when aiming at aliens

Hey, loving the game but for some reason all of a sudden my exos will not shoot when i'm aiming at aliens. It can shoot at their buildings and kind of when they are at a great distance but as soon as the reticle goes directly over them then it just stops. I have to aim around aliens and hope it sprays enough to hit them a little bit and only use single exos so that i can punch them. I verified integrity on steam, i have no workshop mods of any kind and I cannot figure this out. Any thoughts or does anyone else have this problem?

I definitely had this problem, too. The miniguns were starting and stopping and starting and stopping.. no matter how hard I pressed my mouse buttons.
But something is definitely occurring for you.. so if you can reproduce it that'd be amazing! Video or otherwise.
Thanks!
I can't reproduce it
Be sure to use r_stats in the console
Its not that the firerate would be dependent on fps, just the registering of the keypress itself.
What @Biscum said, same happened to me a 2-3 weeks ago on a combat server, couldn't reproduce/didnt happen anymore after. (but i also rarely play exo, or pub combat in general - which is the only times i get to play exo :P)
It seemed like it mainly happened against fades and onis that got very close to me. (so it made the impression that it had something to do with collision -> makes no sense)
Have you tried changing your max_fps to some ridiculously low values like 5 and than try to fire the exo weapons, as someone already mentioned in this thread?
I can now imagine a bug that was introduced with the fix of fps-dependent firing speed, because of the spin-up time of the exo miniguns.
Easy to distinguish.
Trusting the user isn't wasting time, and is actually holding m1 for starters.
Secondly if I can see the fps, it should coincide with the ceasing fire perfectly - something that is hard to do with human reaction times. Not to mention the results wouldn't be consistent if faked. Again though.. why would someone do this?
You are right though for most other input related vids. You'd have to be taking off screen video with your phone or something.
The general dropping of input with severely low fps (sub 10) is evident in almost any game I believe? At least I've experienced this personally, countless times (hello crysis 1 on release day) it may not be fixable but I'm not sure. : shrug:
Try having an Onos or Fade circle very close around you and hold down M1.
Had the LMG 'jam' several times last night while playing MvM. Would not abbot or bash and had full mag. Fixed via reload. Maybe related since MvM shouldn't have nodded anything in the gun code AFAIK.
If the exo locks up again, try reloading, stupid as it sounds... I would laugh if it works.
Also, fraps has a trial version that takes 30 second clips
I've had my gun jam a couple of times [with my FPS being fine at 30ish and on norm MvA], if i remember correctly i could reload but it still wouldn't shoot afterwards (i might be wrong though, my memory is an arse). Picking up another gun fixed it, or dropping my gun and picking it back up fixed it too. It's not the best fix, especially in a massive firefight, but hell, it adds a nice sense of tension to the clutastrophuck.
never on any australian/nz ones though. maybe it could be ping related?
Your mouse is dying, bro. Find a spare one and confirm.
I'm guessing your mouse is wireless, with low polling and worn out microswitch.
This is easy enough to verify. If I am wrong I'll change my signature to proclaim my wrongness.
Edit: What if he (or his mouse) is cursed? You should check out your local exorciser.
Maybe it has something to do with those target popup things when you look at an alien in the Exo UI.
I wouldn't mind recording all the time incase this pops up.
Bugs are like UFOs, by the time you get your camera out they are gone.
