Exo speed question

"Removed exo backwards speed scalar."

I know this effects movement speed but it actually seems like the exo is faster moving backwards than forwards. I don't have experience with Lua and I have only been playing with Decoda for like a few days. Can anyone help me confirm this. Just curious.

On a side note. I have actually killed a few fades now with claw. The damage and range increase for claw makes railexo pretty awesome

Nope. I think it's a matter of perception. Remember, walking around as marine the movement debuff does apply when walking backwards. So you're probably so used to it being slower, that when you go exo, it actually feels faster.

I like claw buff. Good solution.

exactly, its all perception. moving backwards is not faster than moving forwards.

The patch notes also state that Exo speed depends on the weight of it's weapon. So does this only distinguish Railgun vs Minigun or also Dual-Minigun vs Single-Minigun?

Railgun is the fastest, followed by claw/minigun, and dual minigun is rather slow now.

How much speed difference are we talking here? I certainly feel faster using a railgun exo than a pre-gorgeous dual exo but it's hard to say how much of a difference it is.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I was guessing it was just my imagination.

Easiest way to tests different speeds is to start a local server, turn cheats on (sv_cheats 1 in console), and type debugspeed into the console.

Did they make the dual mini gun exo walk slower than in 239? I haven't bought one since I got to play last night

The railgun exo is nearly as fast as a vanilla marine(considerably faster moving backwards). IIRC it was something like speed 5 for railgun, 4 for single minigun and 3.5 for dual minigun.

That more or less matches what I would have guessed. 50 res is still a lot but I have a lot of fun with a railgun exo and it's a pretty unique weapon in the marines' arsenal due to its sniping potential. JPs are still better though and so exos won't see use in most serious games because JP research is the first prio.

    Claw/Mini - Weight = 0.18, WalkMaxSpeed = 4.10
    Claw/Rail - Weight = 0.03, WalkMaxSpeed = 4.85
    Dual Mini - Weight = 0.30, WalkMaxSpeed = 3.50
