<div class="IPBDescription">New map started</div>ok. I know i posted the basic layout of the mao in another thread, but now im showing some pics so.

This one shows the commander center and the space left for the marines to build their things.

Ok, this one is one of the 4-5 labs the map has. Still more things to add, of course.

Last one. Here are the doors (they are trying to seem as if their half open and cant move) that lead to the lab.

Please your opinion about lights, specially in the 3 pic (laboratory). thx

    I think you need to mix up your textures a bit more.... you've got the same flooring in 3 of those.  Also, that HUGE room in shot #1 really needs more variety... what's it supposed to be?  Maybe it's a warehouse or a hangar bay... put in a crane, some storage crates, a small shuttle.  Add piping or electronics on the walls, maybe a huge outer door that's sealed off.  And do something more with the ceiling - something that large will need supports if for no other reason than to be visually interesting.  Maybe arch the roof, add support girders, add column from floor to ceiling, ventilation shafts & air ducts... go crazy.  Rent Aliens: Special Edition and check out the hangar if you need inspiration.

    As for the lighting in the 3rd shot - nice!  don't think I've seen anything like that before.

    Just try to give your map a more personal, detailed feeling in all areas.  Try to avoid large, uninterrupted walls or ceilings; all people will see is a repeating texture pattern.

    I really like your lighting in these shots, but I think your architecture could use a little work.  Especially the first shot, it's REALLY empty and monochromatic.  Throw in some color, something to catch your eye.

    Looking a lot better <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->  Your architecture is done much better, I really like the first shot.  I don't know how much headroom you have, but I think the second shot might look a little better if you made the crossbeams a little thicker across the walls and ceiling.

    I'd like to see if you've worked on the marine build room (your first screen shot)... that's really the only one I had an issue with.  These new ones look really nice!!

    PROBLEMS!!!! i dont really know how but my .map went blank so map dissapeared and the .rmf i last save doesnt have the last modifications i made so i must do it all again!!!

    Ive been working for some time (1 hour) rebuilding the dissapeared parts. Ive not done exactly the same so please opinions again.

    The passage again but with the new design

    Ya, 2nd room is a bit bare.  Maybe you should try "color" touches - knocked over chairs, scattered papers, broken filing cabinets, etc.  Hell, even intact file cabinets.  You said it's a lab... imagine everything the scientists would need to work in there, logically, and you'll come up with a lot more things to add personality to your map.

    I would think so, maybe add a new more of those computer thingys, looks a little empty to the left.  If there is a reason for that, like that is where the cc is going to be bulidng his base, then its fine

    The texture on the piping(?) in the 2nd shot is pretty rough... can you find one a little better suited?  That looks almost like a rock texture or something.

    The CC room looks very odd. The shape seems kinda random. Maybe it would help if you moved something into the middle of the room, like those pipes back in the corner?

    I really like the corridor in shot #3. The lighting fits in very well.

    I think the *actual* CC is the windowed room up the ramp... the hangar area is for marine building.
