One of the graphical settings makes my game crash

Haven't pin pointed which one yet, will trial and error till I can but thought I'd post here now in case anyone else has the problem and know what it is. So basically I've had a couple of incidents where my game has kept crashing, about once an hour to once every 30 minutes. It happened to me a month or so back and now it's just started happening again and I'm pretty sure it's been coinciding with turning my graphics up. I'm thinking it might be AO, but could be shadows. Just played 2 games with everything turned off and no crash so I'll turn things on one at a time and see when I start crashing.

I've got a 480gtx with latest drivers and get decent frame rates.

It's almost certainly texture streaming, leave it off.

Nope, texturing streaming is off. Really annoying to crash when you're in a great game as an advanced life form.

It's not the VC++ run time crash is it?

Well I'm not sure if the crash I'm experiencing today is the same crash. The one before gave me a bug squasher crash windows afterwards. Now I am getting a crash with a windows dialog saying ns2.exe terminated in an expected way (or something like that). Also, 2 of the three times it's crashed today has been loading tram and the third time was during a game in tram.

I dont remember it specifically saying anything about VC++

Edit: Just read the thread on that, sounds like it might be the same thing I'm getting now. Think it's different to my original problem though but that might have cleared up after turning texture streaming off. Didn't they used to have a warning about texture steaming being experimental?

Nop, just had the game crash as in the original case again. Texture streaming is definitely off. Gonna try playing with AO off for a few days.

Edit: Another possibility is that I'm not running at native resolution.
