Wtf? My Half Life Wont Play Any Sound!

<div class="IPBDescription">Only the map background sounds...</div> Neither NS or DoD will play any sound at all, except the map background sound. In NS I can hear little static clicks on top of the ambience. It was working fine last night, and I havent changed any HL settings. The only thing I can think of that might do it is a channel out recorder I installed to record an online broadcast tonight. would that cause it?
